Question about 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
Recently replaced an EGR on a 20005 Dodge GC SXT due to two ODB error codes coupled with an engine underperforming. The EGR replacement helped but, I am still having difficulty getting power at the top end of 2nd Gear, Climbing hills, and when needing to pass while at highway speed. There are no ODB faults reported. I read here that the Catalytic might need to be replaced, which is on its way. Any other ideas?

it is probably not the egr it self it is the control module plugged in to it. unless it is one which the module is built in to the egr valve. check with your auto parts supply and see if the module and egr valve can be ordered separate. I believe they are separate on a chrysler product. Mike

Here are a few things to check that aren't that exspencive to do. check you'r o2 scener and the map scencer.try tapping on the cadiletice convertor to see if can hear any rattling if there is any rattliling the cadiletice converter could be clogged and will need to be replaced. You can also have the emission control module tested to see if it working properly.

Code 442 indicates a vapor leak in the EVAP control system. Fuel vapors are routed through hoses to the EVAP charcoal canister, then via purge control valve, are rerouted through intake when engine running. Bad gas cap seal is the usual culprit, which you can try cleaning the seal & filler neck where it screws in, then erase codes & try again & see if it comes back, or may require new gas cap. Other areas to look is at hoses running to & from canister & purge valve for any crack that may be a source of leak.
