Question about 2002 Ford Escape
I have a ford escape 2002 xlt, its engine light does not light up upon turning the key in, however all other instrument light works. So i opened the whole cluster out to replace the bulb. there are twist lock bulbs behind every signal spot for all other instruments except the one behind the engine signal spot. there is not even a hole for twist lock. looks like the bulb is some how fitted inside circuit board. Does any one knows how to solve this problem..? thankyou in advance
Ford Dealers and repair facilities do not repair circuit boards they replace them. Ford really does not provide a way to test circuit boards. If it is a LED it would be very rare that it is defective. The circuit or the processor that turn the light on would be suspect. A pin out test of the circuit would be the first step this would include checking the wire for continuity from the board back to the processor 5 ohms or less is the standard. When in KOEO (key on engine off) mode power is sent to one side of the led the processer is powered up and supplies a ground to the other side of the LED.
The pin out test confirms a connection. I would suspect first a chafed/broken wire. Look close to the processer out follow the wires where they turn look close on the inside of the turns where they are close to other objects.

Sounds like this light is a LED and is part of the circuit board take to a auto electrician who should be able to replace LED and check condition of the circuit board

Sounds like a crossed wiring connection somewhere, if the four-way flashers are turning on the high-beam indicator. Check all the connectors in the associated wiring harnesses for the instrument panel. Good luck!

there should be some bolts upside down on the top of the instrument panel under the top of the dash. that may do it or removal of some of the trim around the panel will have to come out. then move the steering wheel to its lowest position (tilt). and some of the trim bezels will come out easier. and then the instument panel comes apart on the back side and the tiny bulbs can be replaced

no there isnt a way to reset the the instrument cluster back to zero if your talking about how many miles the vehicle has travelled in its lifetime...you will have to remove the dials and reposition them again...either tht or take it to ford and get some proffesional assistance...
