you should have the pcm scanned for dtc's... probably a bad crank or cam sensor

Have you run the OBD2 electronic engine control fault code test? both the of the tests must be done and the result's diagnosed, that is the key on engine off test (KOEO) and the key on engine running test (KOER) as well. How have you confirmed the injector pulse is lost? each injector has its own driver in the PCM (Powertrain Control Module), the injector grounds the injectors to open them in the proper sequence, it is the same as the firing order of the spark plugs. To confirm loss of injector pulse you use a little tool known as a "NOID", they can be bought at any good auto parts store for about $5.00, they contain a little light that flashes when the injector pulse is present, it plugs into the harness connector at each injector. Each injector shares the same Battery (+) circuit and is powered off of a fuse and it in turn is powered off the ignition starter switch.

I would check n replace the fuel filter if needed. Also, it could be one of the spark plugs. Was it running before? Can you think of anything that happened or changed recently?

Runs good, after 30 mins stalls no injector pulse and hard to start.after 10-15 mins starts again, spark OK. changed fuel pump,distributor. Same


run the fault codes and check for problem ECM
There is an electronic component failure in the injector circuit that when over heats , shuts that injector circuit down
try replacing the ECM with a known good unit

My 98 ford explorer wont start its turning over and getting spark and fuel


OK IF YOUR YOUR SURE YOU HAVE SPARK AND FUEL THEN THE PROBLEM IS AIR OR COMPRESSION I WOULD THINK COMPRESSION DO A QUICK COMPRESSION TEST AND I THINK YOU WILL FIND THE PROBLEM IS A BROKEN TIMING CHAIN ONE OTHER POSSIBILITY IS A PLUGGED CATALYST BUT FOR BOTH BANKS TO BE PLUGGED TO THE POINT IT WILL NOT START IS VERY RARE GOOD LUCK (WHEN YOU SAY YOU HAVE FUEL DO YOU MEAN THE FUEL PRESSURE IS GOOD AND YOU HAVE INJECTOR PULSE OR JUST THAT YOU HAVE GOOD PRESSURE THE INJECTORS MUST PULSE AND HAVE AROUND 45 TO 60 PSI (RULE OF THUMB) FOR IT TO START ) USE A NOID LIGHT TO TEST INJECTOR PULSE OR IF NOT AVILABE SUBSTIUTE A 194 BULB AND BEND THE WIRE TABS FROM THE BULB DOWN AND PLUG THEM INTO THE INJECTOR HARNESS (NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ASIAN OR EUROPEAN CARS ) THIS LIGHT WILL BLINK WHEN CRANKING OR RUNNING IF YOU HAVE INJECTOR PULSE

2004 ford explorer will not start but turns over


For a no start , cranks over ok. be sure you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail first, before checking the injectors. There should be more that 40 psi at the rail... if not .. you might have a fuel pump problem. Even if you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail... the next thing I would check for,,, is spark !! Make sure you have spark at the spark plugs. The order would be... fuel pressure first and then spark , , then injector pulse. !! Then plugged exhaust.... then bad fuel then engine timing. The injectors have power to them all the time. The PCM controls the ground to the injectors. So you would have to monitor the ground side of the injectors. So checking injectors is kinda complicated. Still need an answer to why my 98 explorer wont start ,started just fine 3 minutes prior spins but no start get spark compression fuel but no start if i wait a day or two it almost starts but dies qi


Check if the injectors are pulsing when cranking the engine over. Listen for the tick, or feel for the pulse with your fingertips, or buy a cheap "noid light"-an injector circuit tester- one that fits your injector harness connectors-plug it into an injector connector and crank the car. If circuit is working the noid light will be flashing.
Some anti-theft systems immobilize the injector circuit when they are activated. So you have spark, compression, and fuel to the engine, check the injector circuit.

Crank no start: has no spark and only has injector pulse on cyl # 1. if you spray starting fluid directly into throttle body car starts and stays running and has spark and inj. pulse. once you turn the car...


Fuel pump, you have to have press in the rail to fire all injectors- she will run on ether but not good for her. Ck your pump and any related fuses,relays,wiring.
