CTI idles at 2000rpm

I have a 1992, 1800 fuel injected citi golf and nobody can tell me why it is ideling at 2000rpm...

I had the same problem on my golf, its the idle stabilization valve. i just took one out of another car i have and its one of the easiest things to fix, its the little cylindrical object that sits above the valve cover and there are two hoses and one wire harness attached to it.

Engine idling at 2000rpm.Could it be computer?

On most fuel injected vehicles the computer controls the idle. However, the computer controls the idle based on input from various sensors which communicate with it and tell it what the idle should be. Without year/make/model/engine size, it is hard to offer info. You may have something as simple as a vacuum leak or low coolant to a problem with one of the sensors or possibly the computer itself ( unlikely a computer ). Is the check engine light on? If so,scan for codes to help point you in the right direction

The iacv or idle air control valve may be stuck open.

I don't have data on the 1991 corona 1.8 saloon. Was this car marketed in the U.S.A.?

Was this car fuel injected or carbureted?

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere. There may be a stop adjustment on the throttle body, but usually high idles are due to unmetered air entering the system.

1995 Galant Idels between 1500 and 2000rpm.

hi, i would say the automatic choke spring broke, this is what controls the cars idle at cold and hot engine tempatures. if it's broke it is no longer able to automaticly regulate the rpm's the for making it idle at hi rpm. hope this could help you.
