1. Check the voltage output of the MAF sensor by measuring voltage on the Light Blue/Red (LB/R) wire with a Digital Volt-Ohm Meter (DVOM). A typical idle reading will show 0.7-1.1 volts at idle and the voltage should respond quickly and rise to above 3.0 volts during a snap acceleration of the throttle.

2. If the MAF voltage is out of range and/or it does not react during the snap acceleration of the throttle, replace it.

3. Check the Brown/White (BR/WH) wire of the Throttle Position (TP) sensor for a steady reading of 4.9-5.1 volts. If the voltage is out of range, verify PCM power and grounds are good before replacing the PCM.

4. Unplug the voltage regulator at the alternator and recheck the engine running condition and values as previously noted through the scan tool. If the engine runs better with more realistic pulse width values and good fuel trim functions when the voltage regulator is disconnected, replace the alternator assembly.

5. Wet down the ignition wires and coil pack and look for possible signs of electrical arcing that may be spiking the PCM and engine control components with electrical noise.

6. Inspect all battery cable connections including the connection to the fuse box, engine, block and body grounds near the battery. Address as needed.

7. Check the vehicle's fuel supply for a quality issue which could influence the engine operation because of excess alcohol, the presence of diesel, or any other contaminant. Drain the tank and flush the system as needed.

Car sputtering badly. Codes P303 n P102 show on diagnostics and have replaced both parts associated with these codes,PLUS, new fuel filter, engine still sputtering badly.

I hope I can help with this. This could mean the engine spark plugs or plug is the issue. Also check the exhaust pipe. White smoke indicates a coolant issue. Check your coolant reservoir. Black smoke indicates a Fuel issue. Blue is an oil issue. Also, speaking of your spark plugs there very well could be a misfire.

the code P303 could be cylinder 3 misfire
P102 the mass air flow sensor which is on the air filter cover. It's an electrical part and is sensor. Please check these and let me know.

Trying to figure out what the fault code 1230 means for a cummins qsb 5.9


the code 1230 doesn't appear in the codes listed for the engine but code 123 does
if refers to p102 fault --intake manifold pressure sensor no 1 circuit --shorted low
it is listed as a 4 fault severity non information only
I sourced this from a site alliedsystems.com that has , diagnostic fault codes for cummins engines modesl --qsb t2, qsc t2, qsl t2 qsm11 qsx15 qsk19, qsk23, qst30, qsk45/60/78
I went google and typed in-- fault code 1230 for cummins qsb 5.9 engine which bought a lot of pages concerning the engine designation

Engine service code P155 What part do I need? What p/n


p0155 is an oxygen sensor code. ( 02 sensor bank 2 sensor 1 ). I believe bank two is the one for cylinders 2, 4, and 6. Sensor 1 would be the first one that is closest to the beginning of the exhaust manifold. hope this helps and have a good day ! on passengers side of engine. go to any auto parts store to purchase the sensor.

p102 is your MAF sensor, check the harness connection or, clean the sensor itself-P0304 is a misfire on cylinder #4, that could be related to the MAF, but I would also consider a bad plug wire or maybe an injector problem.

Simply put anytime any check engine light comes on it is usually an indication of a slight malfunction happening within the engines emmisions system/sensors failure, etc.
If you dont want to purchase a hand held scanner for 100.00 take the vehicle into an Auto Zone Auto Parts Store and they will attach there scanner to your Diagnostic onboard connector link and read out the code or codes to you and give you a print out if needed to make the neccessary repairs to the engines computerized system, all for "FREE!!!
