Question about 2003 Peugeot 206

Open Question

My car jerks when it changes gear or when I put my foot on or off the accelerator.

Jerks when it changes gears. I am not sure it kicks into finally gear at high speed and sounds like a Hoover on the motorway. It also takes a long it to pull off at a stop light.

SOURCE: hi please help i have a peugeot 406 hdi i have had

Try this but the fault I have is intermittent so may take a bit to work out - switch off everything in the car so there is no noise. Turn on ingnition (do not start) and listen for the sound of of the fuel pump below the rear seat - behind the drivers seat. The pump should run for about 5 - 10 sec then shut off, it may work but if you cannot hear it it may be an ECU issue. If it does run start the car and drive it until it stops again, switch the ignition on/off and listen for the pump running. if you can confirm that the pump is running intermittently you have the same ECU problem I have. The official solution is to replace the ECU - ££££££. The low cost alternate is to run a wire from the ingnition controlled feed at rear of the radio and connect to the pump feed at the fuel tank, ensure a correct rated fuse is installed somewhere along the wire. There is a least one issue with this - if the ignition is on the pump is running, so not a good idea to sit with the key turned to listen to the radio.

SOURCE: Engine management light wont go off

The only way to shut is off is with a hand-held diagnostic scanner. It is probably on for a reason like faulty sensor or circuit of some sort.

My 2006 Ford Fusion has issues. When driving, if you take your foot off the accelerator, it jerks so bad and slows down...I mean JERKS... as it slows down, then when you want to accelerate again, it sticks...

Most likely issue is your accelerator position sensor. Recommed you remove it and test with an ohmmeter. I don't have the pinout, but there are only four pins. Find the two pins that have a change in resistance when the arm is rotated. The resistance should change smoothly as you rotate the arm. If it jumps around, replace it. Cost is about $75.
