Why won't my car shift?

Depending on the year and model, the first thing to do would be to have someone scan the computers for trouble codes.
All three warning lights could be connected, or you could have several different problems.

How do you adjust the shift cable on a 1995 gmc jimmy, wont go into reverse or park.

On the 1995 Jimmy, the shift cable can come loose on the mount on the side of the transmission where the cable meets the trans. When it slips, the alignment goes off and causes the driver to not be able to put the trans into park. If you take a long stick you can push the shift arm on the trans to the park position and your trans will go into park.....what you (and I) really need to know is how to take the shift cable mount apart and reset it.

I have a 2004 GMC Envoy XT with 4wd. I started to

sounds like you have a broken shifter cable.Go under the rig and shift the transmision manually.Put on the parking brake and on the drivers side of the trany should be the lever to move.Look for the broken part while you are there it will also help to locate the shift lever on the trany.

RV c6 transmisson stuck in park

I think you may be fighting the shift interlock with the brake pedal. Remember, to shift out of Park you need to step on the brake.
You might need someone to hold down the brake pedal while you try to realign the rod from underneath.

My 2001 F150 Ford Harley Truck won't go into park...it will go in neutral, reverse and drive and I can drive it...just won't go into park. Someone told me it was a linkage problem but I have no clue what...

under the vehicle there is a shift rod with a nut on it loosen the nut and move selector on tranny to park then line lever in truck up with it and tighten nut.
