I assume you mean the overflow tank???? not the rad...should be very easy... just remove the bolts for it and it should pop out... no diea on price just make sure you dispose of the coolant properly...and don't forget to reconnect the hose from the bottom of the tank to the top of the rad

I had an oil leak near auto gear box of 2009 holden cruze...now oil has leaked into coolant...should i get rid of car or can it be fixed without it costing too much..?

the cost will be a replacement radiator and an engine coolant flush out both which can be done at an accredited radiator shop
if the oil in the auto transmission is pink ( should be cherry red or clear tan depending of oil used) then there will be a transmission fluid flush as well required
both operations will be considerably less that another car
the problem is that the oil cooler in the radiator tank has split allowing transmission oil under pressure to contaminate the coolant
with any sort of luck the split will seal off when the engine is stopped thereby stopping coolant from getting back into the transmission

Why coolant level in refill tank drops with no apparent leak?

Hi Ayaz
if there no leak detected that means the radiator cap is not holding the pressure, that cause the coolant to travel to the expansion tank and flood out, then when engine cool down, it will suck the coolant back to the radiator and leave the refill tank empty.
Replace the Radiator Cap

Good luck

Replaced thermostat on pontiac sunfire now there's smoke coming from coolant tank

Sounds like you have a leaking head gasket or damage to the engine from when it overheated.
A leaking head gasket can cause compression to leak into the cooling system and pull coolant into the cylinders which is burned out the exhaust. It does not have to leak into the oil.
A shop would check for exhaust gas in the cooling system and run a compression test on the cylinders.

My Pontiac is leaking antifreeze from the breathing hose on the coolant tank, please help

I'm not completely clear on what you mean, but here are some things to check.
1. Check the hose from the radiator neck to the overflow tank for cracks or leaks. If it's leaking the tubing can be purchased at an auto parts store. It's very inexpensive.

2. If it's leaking a lot into the over fill tank this could be an indication that your radiator cap is leaking at the seal, allowing coolant to bypass the spring on the cap and through the hose into the coolant overflow tank. Replace the radiator cap, these are about $10.

2000 Silverado leaking coolant from under the hood and I cant tell where its leaking from. Truck overheated while driving home and had problems pushing on gas to get home

You will have to check the coolant tank. If you cannot find it by looking around it, it will have to be removed. If you find that it has a leak in it, It will have to be patched or replace. Also check all of the connections to the coolant tank. It could be possible there is a leak in the connections.

The water is leaking out of my 98 beetle. I fill up the reservoir and after driving less than 5 miles the temp light starts flashing. The water is leaking out from a plastic looking box next to the engine....

You are referring to the Expansion Tank and it has hoses as well as wires for the sensors. this site has the tanks with the sensors already installed cost to you about $16.94 + shipping im sure.

Leaking coolant checked radiator hoses and

take a look at the waterpump, these cars have problems with waterpump leaking, take caution, the waterpump is driven by the timing belt,if that belt pops or jumps due to coolant leaking on it and causing it to fail, then you will have a costly repair,i belive its about $4,000 to fix, it will cause cylinder head valves to bent, have this coolant leak check asap.

Replaced water pump, alternator, radiator, crank sensor and no coolant leaks and car has antifreeze, but why is low coolant dashboard indicator light keep flashing on 97 saturn sl2

Inside the coolant reserve tank there is a sensor for coolant level.

Over time, this sensor can get stick.

Inspect the coolant reserve tank for crack or leak.

Locate the coolant level switch/sensor and soak it in clean warm water.

Make sure it's free to move up and down the float path.

Top off the coolant tank with coolant only.

Thick black oil in coolant expansion tank

that sounds really serious there shouldn't be oil anywhere in or near that, sounds like you could have a cracked head gasket which will cause oil to leak into coolant and coolant to leak into the oil, if u can drain the sump oil and see if there is water in the oil if so you've got a big problem and is really hard to replace if you don't know anything bout dismantling engines and unfortunately it can cost up 2 a couple thousand to get a mechanic to fix
