SOURCE: SIDE MARKER LIGHT, PASSENGER SIDE

Assuming you are talking about the side marker bulb in the bumper, you need to get behind the bumper and un bolt the lens from the back side to change lens or if just bulb replacement twist socket counterclockwise to remove from lens and then change bulb. Keep in mind if the bumper has been hit this will be very difficult to do unless you loosen up bumper and pull out.

Open the hood. Observe the "tab" on the driver side inner fender, above the corner of the headlamp, outer edge. Remove the screw. Pull the lamp assembly straight forward, towards you. If it has never been out, the lamp will be tight. There are 2 locking pins inside the fender that need to be defeated, you just have to grasp the back side of the lamp (closest to the driver door) and pull it straight towards the front of the car, NOT sideways.

SOURCE: SOLUTION: HOW TO REPLACE REAR BULBS ON 2002 & 2004 BUICK LESABRE

Rear tail lamps for the 2002 La Sabre has eight nuts that hold the cover in place ( one piece-all acroos the back of the car). Do not remove the nuts for the lock, the cover sits in place and is not secured to the lock. Use a 10 mm deep well socket. remove the nuts and lift the cover to replace the burned out bulb(s). The bulbs are #194 or #198 (very small bulbs), not the 3057. It is easy to locate the burned out bulbs by putting the car in reverse and shutting off the engine and then put the ignition key in the accessory mode. The lights will light unless they are burned out. Simply pull them out and replace with the new ones and put the cover back in place and secure the nuts.

How to replace the side marker/position light bulb on the driver side? I can't even get to it because i can't get the light housing off!

The Headlight Assembly is not difficult to remove but you do need to be careful NOT to pull on the Headlight Assembly and break the clips

1. Open the S60's hood and locate the pin that is behind the headlight assembly of the bulb that needs replacement. The pin has a handle on the top. Pull the pin straight out of the headlight assembly.

  • 2. Push on the back of the headlight assembly until it comes out the front of the S60. There is an electrical connection on the back of the assembly; unplug the connection.

  • 3. Press on both clamp on the assembly. The clamps are on either side. Push them in together so that the cover releases.

  • 4 Uncover the bulb by pulling on the small plastic cover that covers each bulb. Push the visible wire aside. Pull the bulb straight out.

  • 5 Push a new bulb in and push the metal wire back over it to secure the bulb in the assembly. Push the covers back on.

  • 6. Reconnect the electrical harness to the assembly and push the assembly back into place. Push the retaining pin all the way back down into place.

Toyota highlander rear side marker bulb replacement

In the rear compartment, there are little access doors that enable you to the four main bulbs for your tail light assembly. The small marker bulb is not among them, you have to remove the entire housing assembly from the car to gain access to the marker bulb. You should see two bolts that are gold in color, remove the nuts from there being careful not to drop them. Once they are removed you need to pull the tail light off the car. Now be warned, if you have an older highlander chances are that rubber gasket seal that keeps water away from the bulbs will be stuck to the car frame. You are going to need to some what forcibly play with assembly to get it off. What I did was tap the gold bolts with a socket screw driver and rubber mallet. Beyond that I just pushed and pulled till I pried it loose. Once free, remove the light that has the cable running out the back, look for the small light socket on the lower side, turn counter clockwise and replace the bulb. Never touch the new bulb with your bare hand, always hold it with a clean towel. Again, just don't be discouraged if the housing assembly doesn't pop off the first try. And ignore anyone that tells you that the bumper needs to come off or the interior needs to be peeled back; they are misinformed, this will work on the 2001-2007 highlander.

    Replacing a turn signal bulb....Baffled...Thanks

    Hello,

Please do not be baffled. To replace the turn signal bulb on Your car is quite simple, all You need to do is to get a screwdriver and follow the steps below:
    1. Open the hood and locate the mounting screws for the outboard marker-light assembly just above the light. Remove the screws with a Phillips screwdriver, then remove the assembly, setting it aside for now.
    2. Locate the two mounting screws on top of the turn-signal light assembly under the side-marker lens. Remove the two screws with a Phillips screwdriver, then set the screws aside. Slide the turn signal out and locate the socket on the back of the assembly.
    3. Rotate the bulb socket counterclockwise and pull the socket out of the assembly. Pull the bulb straight out of the socket and discard it. Install a new bulb into the socket, pushing it in until is seats. Position the socket back into the rear of the light assembly, turn it clockwise to lock it in place, then slide the assembly back into the front of the Jeep.
    4. Install the mounting bolts that secure the turn-signal light assembly, tightening the screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Position the side marker-light assembly to the side of the Jeep and install the retaining bolts.
    5. Tighten the retaining bolts for the side-marker lights with a Phillips screwdriver, then close the hood. Test the repair by turning the lights on and visually verify that the light is working..

How to replace the complete light assembly?

I found out the solution. The little red tab at the bottom of the connector needs to be slid over to unlock the connection. After this is slid over, then you need to push in at the top under the connector and pull it out.

The side marker light comes out from under the hood. You have to push down on a release tab. You can see the tab if you look down directly over the headlight and slightly over to the outer side of the car. if you have the new lens, its easier to visualize

Had a problem with a right, amber side marker on right side

Usually one of the holes in the marker light where screw goes in, has metal contact where screw meets light, but if not, and they are not push in wire connection type from behind, then just run your white wire up through hole in housing, and bare the end & tighten it up under screw holding light to body. White should be ground, brown should be power.

    Tail light replacement

    Hi Guys and Gals,

I figured out that there are two rubber grommets that hold the light assembly in place. Access to the grommets is easy as you just open up the taligate and you can see them located on the inside of the rear area of the van. All you do is take a pair of vise grips or a flat head screw drive and pull or pry the gromments our of their holes. ( I prefer using the grips, no slippage while prying) the old light will drop out of the slot. Remove the wiring harness from the old light as well as the light sockets, incert the sockets into the new light, replace the bulbs into the sockets, then re-connect the wiring harness. Place the new light into it's place on the outside of the vehicle and replace the rubber grommets. Close the tail gate and Voila, your done! Hope this helps some else.
