I cant find the location of diagnostic socket of Isuzu 4jx1

My Isuzu Bighorn 4jx1 engine of yr. 2000 stalled after having had a hard start for a few day. I changed the fuel filter after I suspected that i might have been sold adulterated diesel. I took a sample of the fuel for test and it was found ok. After checking it out with mechanics we have established that sufficient fuel is not reaching the engine and in particular during idling. MyThe mechanics tells me it is fuel strangulation! We wanted to carry out electronic dignosis but we are unable to located the socket. Where could this be? My enginee is uses common rail mechanism. Could there be some valve inside somewhere that has mulfunctioned? Could there be a possibility of low pressure within the fuel system and how to I check out that?

The ODB socket is just under the plastic trim that goes over the gearlever cover by your right foot , no tools needed to get it out .
The 4JX1 is a HUEI type engine so the diesel is not under high pressure until injected .
To prove if the fuel is starved put fuel in a can and pipe it into the hand primer pump direct .
Most likely cause is the Rail Oil Presure Sensor as this controls the amount of fuel injected via the ECU .

wow first post ever posting country ,what a brave person. !!!!
welcome to USA forums ,that have no such car.(truck)
the line up. (wiki list) so its 3.0L 4JX1
stalls and lost power.
The 4JX1 is a 3.0L direct injection diesel engine, turbo, some intercooled, which replaced the 4JG2 in the Isuzu Bighorn/Trooper/Holden Jackaroo. It uses unit injectors and 4 valves per cylinder.

can be caused by many reasons. get it scanned yet. ?
or see FSM book on flash codes from the direct injection fuel
controller? (per this engine option and market)

does turbo have proper boost? (PSI boost or +1 bar boost?)
does it even have a boost gauge.?
there are over 50 causes, of stalls (most inside engine)
but its not getting boost or the injection rates are wrong.
there are basic tests for each covered in the FSM
Factory (oem) service manual, with coverage for this engine.

Its a diesel and its running away so do not try to start till you do the following and yes i know i will be amolished for being a cowboy by the other experts but what you do is to make a gasket for the EGR valve from a coca cola can and seal it off if you dont it may run away and blow itself to pieces .If you do this then it run as normal as the older trucks never had these thing fitted and they all run ok in my day ,exactly whats wron i couldnt tell you without my head under the bonnet but do as i say and it run perfectly

My Isuzu Bighorn 4JX1 RJM Engine stalled after fitting it with new oil pump. It can crank but is emits smoke but not run. What could be the problem? I have tried to check if the fuel pump is not working...

the engine oil pumps are in the rear of the engine(trans out) and behind flexplate /flywheel, were any of these 2 engine oil pumps touched if so the flywheel /flexplate has to be timed to crankshaft position, so you might have it in the wrong position, if your talking about the diesel lift pump (injector pump) that also supplies high pressure engine oil to injectors, after replacing this there is a learn procedure for the rail pressure control valve that is on pump. this can only be done by dealer or some one with Tech2 scanner tool.

My Isuzu Bighorn 4JX1 RJM Engine stalled after fitting it with new oil pump. It can crank but is emiting white smoke. What could be the problem? I have tried to check if the fuel pump is not working but...

White smoke is usually a sign of coolant burning. Carefully open the coolant cap, sniff the inside. If there is an exhaust smell you more than likely have head gasket problems. A further diagnosis is needed to be sure. Also ensure that any wires/plugs are reconnected. If the oil sensor is unplugged the vehicle wont start.
