Where is the valve body on toyota rav4 2003 located

I would need visuals of the valve body, and for that year rav4 they are getting over on you with the price of the transmission.
The ECM replacment would have been the first thing I would have done, as the the ECM controls all the valve servos in the valve body.

most of the time it's not the body that goes bad but the servos or the wiring. But in your case, 99.9% positive your ECM shift control programming has gone bad.

I bought a nissan 2.5 S model. after five months use the car developed jerking problem while moving from gear one to two. I have changed the transmission oil that was black in color, the niew oil is now...

that model year car had issue with wire inside the trans pan. you will need to remove the trans pan and check the ground wire at the valve body to see if its loose. start there. if its loose fix connection and re-roadtest car. if wire is tight, than you may need a new valve body.

Code P2716. car seems to shift fine. it is a 2006

This code is for the pressure control solenoid located in the valve body of the transmission. I recommend getting this solenoid replaced and the wiring harness leading from the outside of the transmission to the valve body inspected for signs of transmission fluid leaking into connection of harness as this will cause issues too. Ignoring this code can lead to poor trans shifting and possible engine stalls.

The transmission was having trouble shifting so I checked the fluid and it's way low. mark is at add 2 pints. problem is there are no leaks

well most likely the transmission fluid needs to be drained and then put in new fluid to the right amount needed, that shall solve your problem. bonus tip also have the clutch stick adjusted if its a manual vehicle.

Is the shift cellenoid inside or outside the transmission?

It's in side the transmission, when you drop the transmission pan you can see them on the valve body. You don't have to drop the valve body to replace them, but if your having problem with the shift solenoid. Check the wire harness from the ECM to the transmission and all the wire clip on the transmission first. Good luck and keep me posted.
