You also may look for a fuel cut off switch, and disconnect the airbag fuse

SOURCE: I hit a curb with my 1997 honda civic ex,

You'd probably have a fuel collision killswitch to prevent fires.Look in your manual or in a Chilton Manual to see where exactly it's located. (If you have one) Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1997 honda civic lx involved in a minor accident,

If the airbags deployed, I suspect the car took a good
hit. If the car is worth keeping, considering the air bag
situation alone, I would take it to the dealer.

I don't kno the extent of damage but if a 2002 chevy malibu had the airbags deployed will it still start.. i had someone tell me once airbags are deployed the car won't start

There are computer and safety interlocks that generally prevent cars from starting after the airbags deploy. Some cars have explosive bolts that also fire to disconnect the battery and fuel pump after an airbag deployment. These are all meant to limit damage in an accident. I suggest you take the car on a flatbed truck to a dealer or mechanic.

97 honda accord. Airbags on dash an steering wheel deployed. How do I repalce them and reset the system.

Get replacement airbag, and there is a electrical connector in the steering wheel, unplug old bag and plug new bag in. PLEASE disable the airbag system before doing this or new bag can deploy!
Then you should be able to mount bag and then rearm system

Does air bag deploy if you touch the module?

first of all. anytime you work with the air bag system you should allways disconnect the negative side of the battery and allow the car to sit for about fifteen min to ensure there is no residual charge in the system. you also have to be aware that a static discharge from a person could set it off. that being said if he didnt take he above precautions he should not have been working on it and owes you an airbag.

While I know it is not recommended, is there a way to remove the airbag from my 97 Nissan pickup?

Remove it or unhook it, The answer is yes and the SRS light will always be on.
But why would you want to do that?
Are you concerned with unintentional deployment?
The explosive charge is very stable, I myself havent ever heard of them deploying from anything other than collision or intentional deployment by hot wireing.
It takes voltage at the modual leads to set it off, So getting power and ground to those leads unintentionally, technicly is not impossible, but the odds are astonomical.
I will say that if and when they do deploy in a collision, they are very effective in saving face. (no pun intended) ok (maybee pun intended).
I have been to two eight hour classes on diagnoseing and repairing airbags, and personally I cant think of a reason I would ever recomend unhooking or removing an airbag.

1994 dodge spirit airbag reset

Airbags should only be installed by a qualified airbag technician after deployment. I HIGHLY suggest you do not try this yourself. If the airbag deployed due to impact the sensors in the point of impact need to be replaced. If you install the SRS incorrectly you may start the car and get a face full of safety. DON'T DO THIS YOURSELF and anyone who suggests you do is not qualified to call himself a responsible technician.
