No the crank sensor does not make a noise it's a Hall effect sensor ,getting its signal from a pickup ring

probably forgot to reinstall camshaft sensor which located on timing cover or forgot to reconnect camshaft sensor because crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensor work together to control fuel timing and spark timing.make sure ignition coil getting 12 volts.

Check powertrain in Chevrolet Lumina s (V6) 2005 model

The check power train light will come on when the computer sees a problem with performance, the code you got was cam sensor,

You may have a bad cam sensor but testing will need to be done to make sure, there may be another problem causing cam code.

i would start with checking wiring to cam sensor and see what the noise is, may have bad crank pulley,

1991 Buick Regal wont turn over.

sounds as if you have two problems the first is mechanical problem in the engine witch is causing the noise you are herring and engine to stall but if you did not here this till after you changed the crank sensor you may be lucky as that may be causing both the stall from before witch happens when they heat up and when you installed the new one if it is not set far enough away from the crank it may have hit it and that is the noise you heard and why it will not start back up pull sensor and see if end has damage.
hope this helps

Cranks strong, wont start

could possibly be a crank sensor, not sending a signal to allow any power to the ignition

P0337 Crankshaft Position

You forgot to mention what kind of vehicle you were talking about.

However, I posted an answer for this on the other question that you posted for this same problem. So, fo the benifit of other people searching this site, I am reposting the answer I gave:

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P0337 is not a valid code for a 2002 Mitzubishi Lancer. However, if you are using a generic OBD code reader to get this code, there may be another "vehicle specific" crankshaft position sensor code that the code reader does not have a definition for and is rendering it as a P0337.

The generic definition for this DTC is "Crankshaft Position Sensor [A] circuit low input". This can be caused by a defective crank sensor, loose or corroded electrical connectors between the crank sensor and the PCM, defective PCM, or mechanical problems that can cause erratic crank sensor signals like timing component problems or bad crankshaft main bearings.

In your case, I would think that the noise is causing the crank sensor code. The crank sensor code is not causing the noise. There may be loose timing components that are hitting the crank sensor or something to that effect.

Car doesn't crank is it battery, fuses or security tried to crank car din't hear starter but a lot of noises like clicling and sounds from fuil pump i think

Put the key on ACC. Does anti theft light up and stop? If it keep flashing while your cranking then it is the ANTI -THEFT. (by the way the humming noise ifs the fuel pump). If the anti theft doesnt light up during the cranking youll need the ignition module why I say that if it was crank position sensor the fuel pump wouldnt activate. your safe with the ignition module.and if you want it doesnt hurt to replace crank sensor why I say this the year. Its been a while just a suggestion

some gm products from this era had a crank pulley separation issue ........noise and improper crank sensor readings are some of the things this can cause so you are going to want to check that
