Sounds like the timing is off a little, and it's running a little rich. Plus your spark advance could use an adjustment. Most likely timing. You mention "built" how built is it? Does it have a carb or EFI? Still have a computer on it? Distributer or direct coil fire?

SOURCE: Where can i find side exaust for my 83 for mustang?

Get on the internet and go to Jeggs or Summitt and you will find all kinds of aftermarket suppliers for the exhaust. Or, just go to Gibson Exhaust or Borla. They all have these kits. They are not cheap though.

SOURCE: I have a 83 mustang gt 302 a Holley 600 it's

Holley carb running rich can be any of several possibilities. Choke stuck, vacuum leaks, weak ignition system, float level too high, fuel saturated float, or stuck needle and seat. 1st check for choke not fully opening. inspect and repair any vacuum leaks. weak ignition can be wrongly diagnosed as carb trouble. Float level can be inspected by removing inspection plugs on the side of the fuel bowls. fuel should be level with the bottom of the threads with the engine running. Caution gasoline and fuel vapors fill be present. if you are not comfortable with this process do not attempt! fuel level can be adjusted by loosening the jamb screw on top on the needle and seat. turn the adjusting nut clockwise to lower float level, replace lock screw. I hope this helps.

For those like me with a good old fashioned Holley type carb, here's a real nice video on the basics. He's gonna be doing more in-depth videos in the future. This cat flat out knows carbs!

Putting a 302 in a 99 mustang

You'll need the K-member from a 94'-95' v6 or GT, along with the correct motor mounts. once you have that it should drop right in. But there are many more parts you'll need to make it work like a 5.0 tranny, exhaust, wiring, pcm, radiator, and maybe more. Look in the Ford Racing catalog and drop a 4.6L Cobra motor in there. A lot fewer parts to buy. Also if your state has car inspections the 5.0 is not OBDII, and should only be attempted if its going to be a "race only" car.

1964 1/2 mustang beinig rebuilt. A new 302 engine

That's because the 302 and the 260 don't share the same accessory bolt patterns. If it's a dealer installed AC the mounting may be "custom". If you still have the original engine, transfer the bolt hole positions, drill and tap. Good luck. Measure twice!

83 mustang gt

In a 83 MUSTANG GT the correct answer is BOTH. As a 5.0L and a TURBO CHARGED 4 cyinder were offered.

1983 Mustang GT
  • Engine:
    • 5.0L horsepower increased to 175 HP when 4V carb replaced 2V carb from 1982 (Holley 4180C series).
    • Exhaust system was revised (less restrictive).
    • 4-speed SROD was only transmission available until early December 1982. In December, new 5-speed T5 became standard GT transmission (4-speed remained on option list).
    • Block and crank were revised to accomodate a 1-piece rear main seal in December 1982.
    • The new "Turbo GT" with a turbo charged 4 cylinder engine was available beginning late in the model year - 145 HP and featured the same suspension and other features of the V8 Mustang GT.
