SOURCE: Battery light goes on

Check the charging system your alternator may be going bad or nOT charging fully. when vehicle is off the voltage at battery terminals should be at least 12volts and when vehicle is running at idle at least 14 volts. If this is NOT so when vehicle is off then battery is BAD. If NOt so when vehicle is running then BAD alternator. Also check battery terminals and make sure they are tightly secured and NO corrosion on terminals. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

SOURCE: Car will simply not start for several days and

i have this same exact car and had this same exact problem over the past couple weeks. At first I thought it was the fuel pump, but was later told otherwise. My car is currently in the shop and it turned out i needed new head gaskets and i had oil leaking onto the spark plugs. It was a pain to get done, but catching it quick and biting the bullet will save the engine.

hope this helps :-)

A new fully charged battery goes dead from time to time after days or even weeks of driving on my 2004 Buick Park Ave. Generator output OK 13.8 - 14.2 V

Have the battery load tested at a local Autozone or other parts store, it sounds like it has a bad cell. The charging system is fine. Also make sure no lights are being left on like visor lights and glove box console lights.

Battery drains

Assume you mean drains of power not fluid. Does battery light show on dash with engine running. Make sure that the alternator drive belt is correctly tensioned (longest side betwen pullys move 1/2" up/down). If it takes a few days to loose charge temp fix is to use a solar battery charger that can charge battery when car is parked. Hope this helps.

95 lebaron short deadens battery in a day or two while parked

try this..entirely disconnect the battery and use a ten amp charger as a battery for the car by connecting the charger clamps to the battery careful to match the polarities red to the positive and black to negative..plug the charger in and listen for a buzzing or see if the guage on the charger pegs to full power..the buzz should show your faulty issue..(relay or switch stuck etc)..

Battery goes dead in about 4 days in 1996 buick park ave

most obvious cause could be the alternator ,one of the diodes has gone draining the battery or the battery itself its difficult to know without checking it out .Try disconnecting the battery and if it still goes flat then you know its a faulty cell in the battery .if it doesnt then try disconnecting the big thick cable on the alternator and see if that stops it

When you start the car the oil pres.gage goes to zero the temp gage gose to hot also if the car set for more than aday batter gose dead.

Sounds like 2 diff issues, The cluster has resistance is why the guages are freaking out. and the battery drain could be a light staying on after you walk away, try doing a walk around car at dark and see if you can narrow it down, If thats a failure? Unplug the 2 wire connector on altenator after you park it for the day and see if it starts the next day, If so the alt is failed..

Battery goes dead after several days, have tried

Connect the meter, then pull fuses one at a time until the current draw goes away.

You have now isolated the circuit that is the culprit. Troubleshoot that circuit and you'll find what is causing the problem. I would suspect there is a light staying on somewhere (engine light) or possibly ABS pump (if truck has ABS brakes). Maybe dash lights are on all the time.

Let me know what you find, or if you need more help.

Battery goes dead when car sits 3-5 days 98 park ave

Obvious that something is drawing down the battery...Put a test light between the negative cable and the negative post of the battery (remove cable first) start pulling fuses till light goes out. That will tell you what system is can then begin looking for the actual problem. If all fuses pulled and light remains on ,chances are you have an internal alternator problem.

beneath the knob to turn on the lights, there is a small screw to turn lights completely OFF. see the owners manual to do this...if it is not in the right place, it can cause battery drain. You need a very small flat head screwdriver to change this position, but I've used one for eyeglasses successfully. Hope this helps.
