Sometimes this light is 'timed' and comes on after a given number of kilometers and can easily be reset.... but if you are refering to your 'check engine light' you may have a bigger problem and you need a code reader (OBDII) and then you can determine where the fualt is

It hasnt been a month since the oil was changed in my 2011 Toyota Camry and the maintance required was reset. Now the maintaince required has now came back on. What would the the problem since I know

Take it back to the oil change place. Or check the oil. If a seal is leaking or oil filter was not tightened or put on correctly oil may have leaked out and you will blow your engine!

Is is there any oil leaking in garage or driveway or where you park?

My 1999 Chevy Silverado is has Electronic Shift 4WD and the AWD Button is Lit and won't shift ,4WD Maintance Required Light is on ,when you turn the wheels it feels like it is in 4WD but after Bareley...

When The ( maintance required) light is on it is telling you that their is an electronic fault in the four wheel drive system. You will need to have a scanner hooked up to help diagnosis the fault. their are several micro computers and solenoids in the system and it would be to expensive to guess which parts my be required to make the system function correctly

Service light

What exactly does the light look like? If it is a picture of the engine (check engine light) you may have a problem with the car. If it is a light that specificaly says "Service Engine Soon" or "Maintance Required", you may not need to do anything. Some cars, not many, have a service reminder light that comes on when ever a service is due like an oil change. When a mechanic does an oil change, they may reset this counter and after 3000 miles or so, the light comes on despite what ever conditions the oil is in, whether it needs to be changed or not, the light will come on and stay on. Now i dont want to tell you to ignore your light and later find out it was trying to tell you something was wrong. Look in your owners manual and find the description of the light. If you cannot find the description or do not have your owners manual, let us know and we will try and help you again. Hope this helps

A light came on. on dashboard with light maintance required

This light could be a for a number of reasons. It really needs to be hooked up to scanner and have the engine codes read. This is the only way to pinpoint exact problem location

Hey i bought my car in march 2006, i have a 99 honda accord lx v4 i am having trouble with the maintenance check light. when i start the car and the light flashes about ten times before it turns off....

Look at the owners manual it will tell you how to turn it off. But before you do that check your milage with the maintance interval list located in the owners manual. The maintance light goes on when a certain milage is obtained which will describe the type of maintence is required.

How reset maintance required light

I get many calls a week for this procedure...
This is really easy! Follow these directions:

Turn the key ON

Look at the odometer, and verify that it displays "ODO" and the total mileage traveled. If it is on "Trip A" or "Trip B", press the black stick next to the odometer to read "ODO", and the total miles traveled.

Turn the key OFF.

Press in, and HOLD the black trip meter reset button, hold it in.
DO not release it.

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine.
Observe the Odometer display. The total mileage traveled will disappear, and you will see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 dash, and finally, 5 zeros. Then, the total mileage traveled will redisplay.

Release the black trip meter reset stick.

This completes the reset procedure, and it will be back on in 5,000 miles, to remind you of you next oil change.
