Question about 2000 Volkswagen GTI
Ok, I have a 2000 VW Golf GTi. I recently replaced all the speakers in the car and added two subs. I've got one 4 channel amp powering the front and back speakers and I have a 2 channel amp powering the Subs. When the car is on, you can hear a high pitch sound through the speakers that changes with the RPM. After checking all the connections and wires, I found that that problem went away when I unplugged the RCA cables. What could the problem be?
The deck in the car is factory and I've used a line level converter so i can use the speaker outputs from the factory deck with the amp's RCA inputs.
Poor line filtering along your amplifier!
place a high value capacitor in parallel with the supply input of your amplifier.
try 16v 3300uf, if your using 12volt source.

Check ALL the ground wires. Did you use a fuse block power source for the subs?

judging by the amount of km it has done i would say the rpm drive is faulty, this measures the amount of rotation in the camshaft and shows the "revolutions per minute". when this goes faulty it stops the read out on the dial, so you want to be looking for a device that measures the speed that the engine is turning, if you have, replace it and it should solve the problem
