Hello and thank you for using FixYa!
Most likely the remote has failed. If you have another remote for the car, try it. All features should work on the spare remote. You will need to get another remote and program it to correct this. Here is a link on how to program it.

You probably have a stuck button. If you can take apart and clean, It'll probably start workin properly. If you can't you may want to try one of those compressed air cleaners, available at best buy or office stores, used to clean keyboards and electronics. If none of that works, you may have to replace the fob...about $60.

SOURCE: 2011 Nissan Altima - trunk
My wife is in San Francisco on business right now. She is driving this vehicle as a rental and found out that the trunk can be opened after you have locked the car the hard way. Her luggage and computer was taken from the trunk because of an outer trunk release button that you can access. Nicely done Nissan. Thanks. (sarcasm)

You can arm and disarm the alarm from the drivers door lock Cylinder by
turning and holding the unlock (disarm) for two seconds alarm and
headlights will stop flashing. If the drivers side lock does not work you can do this from the trunk lock Cylinder too.
Turning and holding the lock to lock also (arms) the security light and alarm.
The alarm stops only by unlocking the driver's door or the trunk lid with the key, or by pressing the Unlock button on the intelligent key.
It sounds like your battery may have died, so you may have to charge the battery before attempting to disarm the security system.

You are going to need to check the power lock control moduel on the inside of the door panel. If the FOB appears to be working but the doors are not unlocking, you need to check this. I would also replace all fuses that control the locks. If both of these devices check out ok, you may need to replace your FOB. To check your power lock control moduel, manually lock and unlock your doors by pressing the lock button on the inside of the door. If it does not work, it is either the fuses or the power lock control moduel. If it works, your FOB has gone bad. Hope this helps! Please rate 4 thumbs up!
