Why has it started knocking?

Knocking is pretty non descript as there are a lot of noises that are associated with an engine. A true knock is a very bad sign. However there are other noises that can be confused for knocking. One way to tell is the location of the knock. High or low on the engine. If it is high then it is not as serious and is usually associated with the valve train. Low knocking is the crank and pistons. Ticking sounds are more common and can be something as simple as wear on lifters etc.

Knocking noise

Sounds like rod bearings, but may be piston slap. Add some motor honey to oil to thickn it up and see if that helps.

Why is my engine knocking when i come to a complete stop. when i turn the corner i hear squealing.

Low oil pressure will cause engine knocking at idle. Pressure climbs and properly lubes engine at higher RPM> Check your oil level.

Squealing may be caused by a loose/worn belt on the power steering system.

Engine Knocking / No Power

Dosent sound good. Oil light on means you lost oil pressure. and the knocking sound is the damage done due to low pressure. Start looking for another engine or another van.

Lost of power, knocking sound

HAVE YOU CHECK YOUR OIL LEVEL? OR OVERHEATED THE ENGINE, CHECK THE ENIGINES OIL LEVEL, YOU MUST OF LOST OIL, RAN LOW ON OIL OR YOUR OIL PUMP GAVE OUT. IF THERES KNOCKING OIL NOISE, THATS NOT GOOD AT ALL. ASLO WHERES THE KNOCKING FROM TOP OT THE BOTTOM. THE TOP IS LESS TUMPING THE BOTTOM IS HARDER TUMPING AND SOUNDS HARDER WHEN ACCELARATED. LET ME KNOW. CHECK THE OILS CONDIOTION FOR GLIDERIN THE SUN YOU SEE THE RESEDUE METAL GLIDERING. IF SO THE MOTOR IS MOST LIKELY SHOT.

Engine Knock on a 98 Isuzu Rodeo

Most likely it is a rod bearing and motor would have to be dissassembled to diagnose, you might want think about installing a low milege used replacment since it was run 5 quarts low on motor oil.
