SOURCE: Trying to get radio out of a 2006 Subaru Baja to

It's probably the speaker, not the wiring. I've got one speaker that goes in and out, mostly out. Turns out the diaphragm is getting stuck to the magnet. After seeing the wiring checking your speaker connection would be a much easier place to start.

We hooked up an external speaker to the contact points and got sound, plugged the original back in, no sound. A simple un-intentional patting to the speaker and it started working again.

Will probably be replacing soon.

As a side note, crutchfield sent me some nice installation instructions when I purchased a new wire harness to put in a new radio. Pretty detailed and with photos. Getting in there takes a bit of work, but trying to trace wires would be painful.

Where is the fuse box that connects to my radio and speakers my speakers on the drivers side and the backseat won't work only one speaker works in this the passenger door why is that

If the radio/stereo and at least one speaker is operational, it will not be a fuse issue. Check all wiring connections at the back of the radio unit.

How do I remove the back seat and the back seat rest in my 1991 Chevy Caprice Classic? I want to have total access to my trunk, and I don't want to have to get out the saws-all.

using a tire iron push up under the backseat bottom prying toward the trunk there are two large clips one on each side, The seat back comes off by prying it towards the headliner (top) of the car.

All the speakers including the sub do no have any sound coming off. The only speakers that have sound coming from them are the very last ones in the back seat. How can I fix this?

Hi,
Check the wiring of the speaker that don't work, it might have been disconnected or the wires are cut.
Look at the wires inside the door panel, which the front speaker is located, the wires leading to it might have disconnected via door panel wire harness inlet. You could see the wires at or near the front door pillar hinges.
If the wire is cut off, strip the wire and join them together, wire color should be connected with the same color. After that insulate them by using electrical/plastic tape.
Your local technician can repair it.

Hope that helps you out.
Thanks for using Fixya!

How do I remove the backseat of my 91 regal in order to install after market speakers?

Most rear seats you must remove seat section first .Grab front edge of seat & pull up. Then bolts for back of seat should be at the bottom at what would be the floor.Top should be on what I would call hooks , so the back must be slid upwands after bolts are out.Hope I'm not leading you in the wrong direction and you have bolts holding front of seat down! Check along front edge to ensure this is not the case

2000 Grand Prix: how to change rear speakers in a 2000 Pontiac Gran...

You will have to remove the backseat. First the bottom part, it has two pull cords to release the seat. Take that out. Then for the back part, you will have to remove 4 nuts (2 with washer looking things attached and the ones holding the seatbelts) at the bottom of the seat. After removing them, where you had removed the seatbelt nuts, you will have to remove the seatbelt peices. Once that's done, you will have to pull the seat out and up. Behind that, there is 2 round button anchors, which you will have to pull out. Once those are removed, the whole back peice comes out, exposing the rear speakers. They should be 1/4 bolts holding the speakers in. And if you are modifying (not using stock speakers), you may have to cut they wires to replace the speakers.

Removal of backseat

Hi

If you want to remove the rear seat, 2 screws secure the lower seat squab, then once out, you can see the 2 screws that secure the backrest, once undone, lift to remove.

Are you sure you can´t get to the speaker, from in the trunk ?

Might be a wire adrift ?

Good Luck !

John.
