Sunroof will not shut

How do you manually close a sunroof in a Hyundai Santa Fe?
Push the sunroof control lever forward in the direction of close (about 10 seconds) until the sunroof moves a little. Then, release the lever.

Something is in the tracks or it needs to be lubricated , use silicone spray on guide tracks ....

In the under hood junction box , fuse CTSY LP 15 amp . Instrument fuse panel PWR WDO CB 25amp .
Sunroof Motor Synchronization
Synchronization will be necessary anytime the sunroof module battery positive voltage circuit is interrupted. The sunroof module will be synchronized when the controller learns the full vent position. The sunroof system will ignore any open request until the system has been synchronized.
To synchronize the sunroof:

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Using the close/tilt up portion of the sunroof switch, operate the sunroof glass until it reaches the full vent position.
3. Verify that the system operates normally.

Once the sunroof glass reaches the full vent position, the actual position is stored in the memory of the sunroof module. The sunroof module will stop the motor one motor revolution before the defined actual positions

there are drain pipes in the corners around the sunroof.
with the sunroof open pour some water into the channell to see if they are blocked

MY SUNROOF WILL NOT CLOSE COMPLETELY IT REMAINS 1-I2 INCHES FROM CLOSING WHAT CAN I DO UNTIL I HAVE IT SERVICED SO THAT RAQIN AND WATER WILL NOT RUIN THE INTERIOR.... 2001 MERCEDES E-320 4 MATIC

It can be faulty motor or loose wiring issue or faulty /weak sunroof controlling switch or there is some blockage for sunroof to come down to close or sunroof out of its track the headliner is out of its way.There re many possibilities.All this basics needs to be checked.For further troubleshooting,go through this help link:----

i think it might be the open and close buttom has something wrong or the motor of the sunroof it is better that it is seen by a specialist

The sunroof continues to open and close normally from front to back, but the vent stays open.

You have plastic gears in the roof mech that tend to chip and break over time.

Take plenty of photos as you go and take your time.

Im sure you will be able to find a solution .
