The reverse does not work

My truck is a Ford Explorer 96 6V 4.0L 4X4 , I rebuilted the transmission because the truck had problems with shift while was running, the light O-D began to blink.
Also the truck had problems when were cold since it did not want to walk until that the tempeture were some hot.

But Now the truck does not work the reverse and even when I put the reverse the truck want to run forward, Could you help me with the solution? Some mechanic say to me that is the valve body, is true?

I have a 1981 ford f150 4x4 with a 302 engine An automatic transmission that works fine shifts properly going forward But when I put it in reverse I hear a clunk and sometimes it goes into gear and...

If the transmission was rebuilt 2 years ago the fluid and filter did not need to be changed. In a 1981 there are no trouble codes to retrieve so whoever suggested that is out to lunch, Unfortunatley you need to get the transmission rebuilt again, hopefully it gets done better this time. Using the dexron oil in Ford transmissions is something transmission shops do because they don't want to stock different fluids. While it's not likely that using dexron oil lead to the failure it would be better to use mercon or type F oil.

I have a 98 explorer 4x4 4.0 sohc we just changed the egr valve and it didnt solve our problem it dies and shifts hard we also just had the transmission rebuilt what could be causing this problem?

The problem with tryting to solve this, is the fact that you have just had your transmission rebuilt, which could lead to a number of possible problems.......did you rebuild it ??? or did you get it done a t a transmission shop ????? what was the original concern ????........please include more info, so that we are able to assist you !!

200 ford explorer will not shift into overdrive,

My Mom had the same problem, and ended up needing her transmission totally rebuilt. Later she was told that when Fords do this they usually just need the transmission flushed and all the filters replaced which is a way cheaper alternative and a good thing to try before you shell out 2k for a total rebuild !!!

Yes PCM (powertrain control module). is the standard name established by the EPA for all engine control computers, on Ford it also controls the trans shifting.

the transmission is loseing internal fluid pressure, its time for a rebuilt transmission. The A4ld that your explorer has is prone to trouble in this area. A good rebuilt transmission may cost at least $1700 dollars.

No reverse..1998 exporer sport 2 door 4x4 sohc v6 auto

your transmission part number for a motocraft rebuilt trans would be TRM1341, as far as they list it the transmission was only for that year, meaning you would need to find another 1998 explorer or 1998 mercury mountaineer in order to replace your trans. hope this helps :)

Overdrive

If the OD light is flashing, your transmission is bad. Have it rebuilt, because it most likely is the transmission fluid pump. Good luck!
