Question about 2000 Nissan Maxima
I have a 2000 Nissa maxima. When I start the car, after the initial startup systems check, the brake a battery lights stay on. I figured it might be a computer probelm and disconnected the battery and reconnected it, but I keep having the same problem. The problem strikes me as a bit weird because I can't think of something that would those two specific lights to come on simultaneously. Has anyone ever run into this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You don't have a short, just a bad alternator. Both lights will come on, on nissan's when the alternator is bad. I have been a nissan and infiniti tech for 11 years and that's just how the lights operate.

YEAH THAT HAPPENS TO MY CAR TOO. YOU MIGHT HAVE A CHARGING ISSUE WITH YOUR ALTERNATOR OR YOUR BRAKE FLUID IS LOW. BUT THE REASON WHY BOTH ARE COMING ON AT THE SAME TIME IS THAT THERE IS A SHORT WITH THE WIRES FOR THE CHARGING SYSTEM AND BRAKE SYSTEM THAT ARE CROSSING PATHS AND TOUCHING EACH OTHER WHICH IS CAUSING BOTH LIGHTS TO COME ON.
