SOURCE: 2001 mitsubishi eclipse 3.0l ticking noise

No. The valves are hydraulic. Pour about a coke tin amount of diesl in with the engine oil. Run the enginr to normal teperature. Drain the oil and refill with new oil. It sounds like a lazy or blocked follower. Once you do this it should disappear.

Your throttle body likely needs cleaning.

Take the intake hose off and using throttle body cleaner or brake cleaner, spray a rag and use our fingers to clean the gunk off the throttle plate and the contacting area of the inside of the throttle body.

4d56 deisel engine, after opening the engine, good idle but when i accelerate knoking sound appear

Not sure what you mean by opening the engine.

The combustion process of a diesel is not the smooth burn and increase in pressure of a petrol engine but is virtually an explosion causing a sudden rise in cylinder pressure. This is the source of the typical diesel knock and is more pronounced in some engines and some injection systems, especially when accelerating. It can be scary for those unfamiliar.
Electronic control tends to soften the noise.

Knocking might be the result of a mechanical problem (piston, connecting rod bearings, etc.) but if these things have been eliminated other causes of excess knocking can be excessive injection timing advance, dribbling injectors, bad spray patterns...

Where is the oil pump on a 1997 mercury sable 3.0 engine think its weak as I hear valves chatter and changed oil filter it was only half full of oil is this normal

Half full is not normal. You may have leak or burn. Clatter is usually the hydralic valve lifters. Does it quiet down after it's been running a while? What is the oil pressure?

A ticking sound on a 06 ford f150 super crew 5.4L

Ticking sound could be coming from a Coil-on-Plug, or a pcv valve, or (hope it's not) a valve lifter which could be sticking. Sticking lifter noise often disappears when rpm's change, or the noise comes & goes. try changing the motor oil & filter right after adding an Engine-Flush Treatment to the motor oil, running the engine for 10 minutes at idle with treatment added to the oil, then draining the oil & changing filter while oil is still very hot. That last part is very important, so be careful not to burn your hands - be careful. -- The sticking lifter is a likely cause if motor oil has not been changed at frequent intervals in the past (every 3-4K miles) -- dirty oil causes sticking lifters.

This morning when I was passing a truck, my 2006 F-150 lagged and a light came on. After I got around the other car, the light went out. Is something going out?

You might want to have your "Cam Phasers" checked at a Dealer. There is an extended recall and it is an expensive repair without a Warranty. You could have had a temporary problem with a sensor in the EGR network at wide open throttle.

But take this opportunity to have the "Phasers" checked because the extended Warranty has mileage limits and runs 7 or 8 Years. If you hear a diesel sound that fades after 2000RPM it is a sure sign. What is happening is there are separate timing chains for each bank in the engine. The Phasers synchronize both sides. When they get out of sync, you have engine lag, rough idle, stalling, valve clatter, and "Check-lights" for lean and rich mix. The repair can run $1800-$2400, so free is a better price.

I hope my solution is very helpful to you.

I took the car for repair and they fixed my oil pan valve cover gasket and the oil pan gasket. they put the knock sensor wire direct to the knock sensor since they didnt have a connector. i drove off and...

the knock sensor changes the timing of the motor when it senses knock ,it sounds like the wire may have come off ,it sounds as if when you press the gas the timing should advance and it sounds as if its not advancing thats why you are hearing a clattering noise on accelerating.if you keep driving it like that you can do engine damage

The engine is making a ticking noise coming from the intake

well it could be a fuel injector. All the intake does is just that, sucks air into motor. So whatever is ticking just sounds like the intake yet it is something else. I would have somebody with experience check for a possible timing chain rattle or a intake valve clatter. Also a fuel injector, and you can check that by the spark plugs condition
