Question about 1990 Geo Storm
It's an Isuzu engine, Manuel. so....
what makes you think there are solid lifters?
which engine option, that he first question, not stated.
1.6L or 1.8L
the 1.6L comes SOHC and DOHC version, so...?????
so many posts. on so many cars, why not log in to alldata.com
and use that for facts.
ill now quote stormowners.com
ISUZU changed with the wind.
The first generation of the 4XE1 DOHC engine was introduced in 1987 (1989 USDM), with hydraulic lifters, and rated at 135 PS JDM and 125 HP USDM. The second generation 4XE1 DOHC engine was introduced with the 1989 Geo Storm and 1990 Isuzu sister cars, with solid lifters, and rated at 140 PS JDM and 130 HP USDM.
The later 4XF1 engine went back to hydraulic lifters.
so again, what engine.
cant work on engines , not knowing what is there.
HERE IS THE rumor for 1.8L
id not use rumors, on the internet, but fsm quotes work sometimes.
why not login to alldata.com and look.?
all that , by using SEARCH.
id not use that, id read the book.
odd but good to know fact on Isuzu engines.
The fact is that the 4XE1 SOHC and 4XE1 DOHC are not sister engines,
so how many cams, , does your car have.?
vin 5 or vin 6?

SOURCE: 1992 Geo Storm having problems.
you may have turned too many rmps and warped a piston which would cause the piston to actualy hit your valve, or while turning too many rpms you may have caused the valve to "float" which would mess it up

the fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. drop the fuel tank and unscrew the top of the fuel pump and replace the fuel pump
