Best bet is to buy the new one, ur old one should look like the new one. if u still cant find it can google it or inside part of the car that why u cant see it. most time is in side a part where ur car part at.

Hi i never worked on it but i would try to Dryglide special product easy up open and close windows and so spry on the edges and see maybe the mechanism is going stiff and force to open u buy Dryglide from Repco good luck

LOCATION OF 1996 RAV4 THERMOSTAT FOR REPLACEMENT


It is at the engine end of the upper radiator hose. In the picture below it is number 15, below the thermostat cover, number 13 and gasket, number 14. This is a picture of your 1996 Toyota RAV4 cooling system.

1996 rav4 ignition problem, key wont turn even when steering lock unlocks (but lock does catch quicker as soon as key out of lock posistion) cannot turn to att and engine start option. I have tried with 2...


try to turn steering wheel a tiny fraction when you insert ker and try to turn it ,do both at same time my echo did a similar thng and this worked for me I hope this helps

I cannot find the brake fluid reservoir in my 1996 Rav4.


on 1996 RAV4: master cylinder and resevoir should be located at the driver's side firewall.

I'd recommend you buy an aftermarket service manual that would have enabled you to check for this yourself but if your engine uses an anti-knock sensor, it has probably failed.

These detect the distinctive sound of pre-ignition and ****** the ignition timing to prevent this from occurring, compensating for the lousy gasoline we have.

I would check and correct soon; if ignored, this can punch holes in pistons over time.
If you can't do this real soon, try using higher octane gasoline, that may help.
