The part you speak of is the computer that senses the number of times the AC compressor cycles on and off, when it see this happening to often it means the system is low on refrigerant and has a leak. As as the sensor goes someone was pulling your leg and i am sorry about that.

You can do what you want about using the website it is no real concern of mine and your decision, but i think by and large it is better than spending as much as $1000.00 to have a shop diagnose the issue and fix it.

SOURCE: where is the anit-knock sensor on a 1996 4 cyl toyota camry

Should be on the side of the block facing the firewall. It may or may not be contacting coolant so you may have to drain the radiator.
Keep in mind knock sensors almost never fail. You may have an engine component making a noise or vibration the sensor is picking up.
The sensor is supposed to sense spark knock and tell the computer to adjust the spark timing down.

Why is the indicator ac light blinking?

What kind of vehicle? It means have your ac inspected. On Toyotas, It is a fail-safe mechanism. The compressor speed and the engine speed are not in unison. So the magnetic clutch dissengages so the compressor doesn't lock down. This can be caused by the serpentine belt slipping, or the magnetic ac clutch relay in the fuse box, or the ac revolution sensor on the side of the compressor. It could also indicate that the compressor itself is going bad. More than likely it the revolution sensor going bad or it is low on compressor oil and freon

2004 camry ac light blinking and throws hot air. Suggestions?

My 2003 Toyota Camry AC often starts blowing hot air and the AC light starts blinking. I don't know why the following process works, but it does. Using the temp selector (left) reduce the temperature all the way down to Max Cold and then push the Auto button. It will start blowing out very cold air. After a little while push the temp selector to the desired temperature.

1993 camry v6 A/C Flashing

The AC light is flashing because the AC compressor "revolution sensor" is not working properly. You need to consider replacing the Revolution sensor that is located on the side of the compressor. You need a pro to do this, as the Freon will escape if you try this yourself.

2004 Toyota Sienna, a/c light flashes with system running

The AC light will flash if the AC compressor "Revolution Sensor" is compromised.
This is the only reason that the AC light will flash. Best advice: Replace the AC revolution sensor. It is bolted onto the side of the compressor. Best to have a professional do this, as loss of the refrigerant may occur when it is removed. Hope this helps, and thanks for choosing FixYa. The graciousness of a FixYa rating would be most appreciated.

Replace the A/C compressor revolution sensor, bolted to the side of the compressor, unless the connector was inadvertantly left unconnected. This is the only reason the AC light will blink.

AC problem

Check the revolution pick-up sensor.
Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 3. Check that
the measured value is at the standard value.

Standard value: 405 ± 35 Ω when the ambient tempera-
ture is 20 °C (68 °F)
