Here is the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle, it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and/or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving

SOURCE: 1993 TOYOTA TERCEL 1500cc Valve Seals Replaced now smokes much worse

You either have had the wrong valve seals installed, they are physically missing, or the valves are incorrect (too loose in the guides/stem too thin). The rocker arm seals will not contribute to your issue. If it did not have the oil smoke before you took the head off, the issue is with whatever the machine shop did. Valve seals have to fit TIGHT, or oil will go down the valve stem into the intake.
Take the head back to the machine shop & tell them to fix it. For free.

SOURCE: 1997 DODGE RAM 1500 360 VERY LOW IDLE

I think you have ruled out the engine with all the parts you have replace. The transmission torque convertor is in lock up mode all the time. The engine is having to hard of a time to stay at the normal idle. The over drive clutches and soleniod are most likely damaged in the transmission.
I think you should take the vehicle to a trasnmission shop , The can check the torque convetror soleniods and pressure control soleniod.

The oil light coming on bothers me. I know you have the rebuilt engine in the vehicle but I think the oil pump in the engine is starting to go out or could be weak. The lower bearings connected to the crank shaft might be starting to leak. Have the oil pressure checked .

SOURCE: 1992 gmc chevy 350 wont idle when warm

This could be a number of things but i think that your problem sounds like a vacuum leak or an EGR problem. Try listening for leaks and try un-plugging the EGR solenoid valve one time.

Maybe as simple as a tune up! Change your plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, and air filter. also it could be the fuel filter, if this dont work it might be water in your gas. GOOD LUCK!

fuel pump sounds to be problem, though I'd replace air cleaner first to rule it out cheaper than pump (pump may have internal filters that are blocked)

My car was running great, stopped @ a stop light when it just died.it turned over but sounded like there was no spark?where do i find the ignition module & what's some other causes??thanx

This sounds like to me a fuel pump relay or fuel pump it self problem. I would check that first. I do not believe it is your ignition module. Your owners manual should tell you where these are. This will at least help you get started to make sure you are getting fuel. Thanks mike

This a problem with a vacuum hoses leak. Need to find the leaking hose due to cracking and joint rubbers degrading. Need to have  a Mitty vacuum gauge to check these plastic hoses one by one to replace bad ones or replace all of them. If you don't feel comfortable to do thi,s have a shop find a vacuum leak for you.
