How much fuel do i have once my fuel light is on for a toyota corolla 1.6gl 89 model

the fuel filter is in the tank attached to the fuel pump

no it does not check to see if you have fuel out of pump. you may need a fuel pump.

ITS A LIFETIME FILTER AND WITH REGULAR USE, SHOULD NEVER NEED TO BE REPLACED

i am pretty sure that this type of car does not have a reset button for the fuel.i have the same toyota,but mines is a sedan and i have never seen one on it.if your not getting any fuel,check your fuses,if good,check your fuel pump which is located right under your rear seat.hope this info helps.good luck and take care, manny
