2013 lariat can I put put larger tires on my truck?


Yes, ..BUT.. There are a couple issues that must be considered..
Front end first.
1. Clearance = at the fenders when the suspension moves the tires to max travel upward... == 2. When the tires are turned full travel left and right ( full suspension travel also)..make sure the tires will clear the frame/suspension components (at full turn - left and right)
Next is the front end geometry (toe-in -caster/camber) is set after you install the new tires... larger tires will also decrease your milage (harder for the engine to turn).. REAR END - make sure the tires clear the fenders when the suspension moves through the full travel range.. if the tires stick outside the fenders, you MIGHT have an issue at full suspension compression.. not to mention throwing "stuff" all over your truck!

Generally speaking about suspensions, most don't consider the side to side and tracking involved and when something breaks, if you do nothing or don't fix it right, the least damage is tire wear, the worst is the whole unit comes loose and twists at an odd angle causing body and property damage at low speed and injury or fatality at high speed.

2007 ford sport trac at high speeds it feels like my front end is walking all over the road but no shimmy in my steering wheel and goes straight tires look ok rotated tires problem still there.


could be from worn tie rod ends, suspension ball joints , worn suspension rubbers and failing shock absorbers
take it to an accredited suspension service center for a complete check including the rear end as the front floating sensation could be from a problem rear end suspension set up and shock absorbers
I am well aware that every tire shop says rotate tires but in reality you just move a problem tire from one corner to the other, fail to see a wear problem develop in the tires ( indicates alignment or tire case problem) and costs 4 tires at a time instead of 2 which is not really economical as well
consider this front drive cars wear out front tires at the rate of 3 to rear tires 1 and I think you get the picture (rear drive cars rear tires 2 to front 1) or if there is a case problem with a tire it is lost in the rotation process and becomes dangerous on the road

Alignament rear suspension


I replaced the rear struts, when removing i discovered one was totally bad, they didn't seem bad from testing and recovered quickly when pushing on the bumper, but were bad. after replacing my rear tire wear is even after 5k miles. mine were wearing from inside to outside too.

The car feels like the rearend is very loose and squirrely


The first thing to do is the check the tire pressure, low tires can cause this type of problem. You may have some breakage in rear suspension components, so the rear suspension should be inspected. I would consider this a safety issue, and I would have it inspected ASAP. It may be as simple as a rear suspension bushing, that has gone bad, and this isn't normally a big safety issue, other than the obvious squirrelyness you feel. If there are suspension parts broken, then this is plain dangerous if you drive the vehicle, because the problem can get worse in a heartbeat..

Possible broken belt in one of your tires. Move the 2 front tires to the rear, see if the problem follows the tires. Or run your hand around the circumference of the tires to feel for a bulge. Other, more expensive problems could be in the suspension. A-arm bushings, or wheel bearings.

When I get to 45 mph my car has a thumping noise. Sounds like to me something to do with the drive train...cv axle, or something else. please help me I need this car fixed.


Check your tires, you may have a bad tire and make sure it's at proper tire pressure 32psi. Also check all the linkage like the sway bar end links, the bushings could be worn and moving around. Best thing to do is spend some money and have a tire shop rebalanced the wheels $15.00 each at most places and have them inspect the front suspension for any damaged or worn parts causing the noise you have. You can try rotating the front to rear wheels to see if the noise moves from the front to the rear to eliminate the tires as the cause of the noise, just make sure there all at 32psi. Good luck and be safe.
