I have a draw on the battery on my 85 Toyota pickup it kills a fully charged battery in about 2 hours... Ive put a volt tester between the disconnected positive battery cable and the positive battery post...

Go to You Tube Video & see how to do a parasitic CURRENT
drain test

What you have done so far with a test light & volt meter is basically
doing nothing

You need an amp meter & a wiring diagram, then pull fuses one
at a time, to get to the circuit that causes the drain, then use the
prints to test that circuit for voltage drops

Having a batttery pull. if battery negative cable is left on over night the battery will be dead

You have a bare spot on one of your cables that is grounding a positive wire or you have a dead cell in the battery. Have the battery checked and check your positive wires going from the battery to the engine compartment fuse panel and starter for bare spots allowing the wire to ground.

Chrysler 2005 town and country mini van dash lights flicker, gauges go crazy, car shuts off no warning. Changed battery and alternator???

its the positive wire that goes to the fuse box from the battery. its crimped into the main positive wire. it needs a better connection.

Car keeps going dead overnight. we have checked the alternator and it is good, we just can't figure out what's wrong with it

You have a draw, something is pulling the battery down when the car is not in use, unplug the alternator, and let the car set over night to see if the battery stays up,make sure the light in the trunk, inside, and hood, are not left on,if the vehicle will start up the next day, then the alternator is bad.

My golf 1.8t gti has a fault the 4 wires on the positive side of the battery if the black one is connected when the ignition is off it deadens the battery anyone know what these wires feed or what they do...

What you have is a battery drain.. these can be very difficult to track down. Plug in the battery, on the + side, and put a test light on the - side (----battery cable ------->test lead<--------(battery)) Then start pulling fuses, when the light goes out, you found the fuse the drain is on, now you have to look at a wiring diagram and pinpoint where the drain is coming from..

Easier method.. make sure all your doors are shut, trunks shut.. all the lights are off etc..

Its a brand new alternator and for some reason when I pulled the positive wire from the battery terminal the car shuts off, and its almost like the alternator is not working.. Could this just be the wire...

there are a few small wires on the alternator and one is a feedback for the alternator to switch on and charge the battery.there is a fusable link which looks like a piece of wire, but it is a fuse and if your alternator was blown,or a jump start was done wrong,it could take out the fuselink and your alternator is not putting out voltage.get a diagram and check to make sure that all the voltages for feedback are ok
