First try turning key on but dont start engine...... depress accelerator pedal to the floor slowly 3x . May put it back in learning mode, if not then check the multifunction switch on tranny or speed sensor to see if it got damaged

Don't you hate that?? I would rather have a dead battery than a bad tranny. Did it die completely or did it go into the fail safe mode? Some have a low speed mode, enough to get you home, some don't. First thing to do is check the fluid. If it is full, smell it to see if it smells burned. If it does, start looking for a new one. The tranny shop will swap it out for $1200. Do it yourself fixes don't usually work, especially if it burned. If it just quit, it isn't the shift solenoids, It could be the lock up thing, I have no idea where it is located, but you can google it and find out. The bottom on the tranny that holds the filter is a valve body that has a bunch of goodies on it, sometimes they are located on the outside of the tranny so you can get to them without taking the thing out of the car. It is a big job. Hope this helps.

Goes into fail-safe mode with no power. S-type Jaguar

Common tranny problem. This is also known as the "limp home mode". Turn the ignition off for 15 seconds, and turn the car back on. It should kick in normal mode again. The cause is electrical. The system shares the ground with all the engine sensors and a fault with them will cause this problem. Most commonly the coils and spark plugs. DON'T take it to the dealer. The only thing they know how to do is replace the tranny for $5k or more and the problem comes back. When at all possible, get your tranny flushed every 35K miles to keep it working strong. Its a sealed tranny and does not allow for regular checks like an other cars. Ive worked on them in my shop and own an X type with the same problem as yourself with is now fixed. So get the coils checked/replaced, replace the plugs (double platinum autolite works great), and clean all your negative ground wires. This will resolve your issues.

On a 95 chrysler concord the tranny will not up.

Not really, there is a high and low solenoid on the side of the transmission, sometimes they become loose and disconnect.

Dealer needs to give you the code, unless its in the documentation you recieved for the car. you will have to prove ownership to the dealer, but itsx not a big deal

You may not need a new TCM with any luck. I would try unhooking the battery for a few minutes to see if it will reset the TCM.
TCM = They Cost Much $. If you need to replace it you should be able to get one at a local parts house - avoid the dealership if you can. I wouldn't trust on-line stuff for this unless you know the source.
