'Kia doesn't have Chilton type repair manuals for the general public. But you can get Kia repair info online at http://www.kiatechinfo.com/index.asp. You'll need to create a user name and password. Good luck.

SOURCE: how do you replace a fuel pump in kia sorento?

Hello gabbiesavas: My name is Roger and I will help you. The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. To gain access to the pump you will need to remove the rear seat cushion from the vehicle. Remove the screws in the access panel located under the seat. Disconnect the wire harness from the pump and the fuel lines. Be careful that the fuel lines may be under pressure. Also be careful not to make a spark.Remove the retainer nuts or screws holding the fuel pump housing and lift pump from the tank. Be careful not to spill gas on your carpet. Reverse the procedure to reinstall the pump.

2011 Kia Sorento fuel pump replaced twice in two months. Now we are smelling gas. 2 Kia dealers say can't find anything wrong. Can this be a bad gasket or lock ring? Smell is worse with full tank

As it is worse with a full tank, it is my belief that the problem lies between the filler cap and the tank itself. There is a clip and rubber hose joining the two.

The other possibility, but usually on older cars is rust perforation on the top of the tank due to dirt and mud holding water spray and rusting small holes in the top of the tank. I had this on a Toyota.

Hi, where is the fuel pump of Kia sorento 2012?

Probably in the gas tank. Follow the fuel line from the tank to the engine and some where along the way you will find it inline if it isn't in the tank.

2003 kia Sorento gas keeps spitting back out when I try to fuel up

There's usually a flap on the fill tube below the gas cap. Try to put the pump handle past the flap, and slowly pull the pump handle to fill the tank.

On a 05 kia sorento water in gas tank removed it and fuel pump got all water out poured 1and a half gallon of gas back in tank and the kia sorento still want crank what do i do next

when you say crank do you mean the starter won't turn the engine over-can you hear the fuel pump run when you turn the key on-you might want to dump a bottle of heat gas line antifreeze in to absorb any water left in fuel system-cheers Denny

Fuel pump replacement on a 2003 kia sorrento

Remove negative battery terminal, release tank pressure by opening gas cap, remove the rear seat, you will see a cover, remove the cover, you will now see the top of the gas tank and also the pump, the pump is located inside the tank and can be removed from the top, next remove the connector from pump, remove the lines, note : cover lines with a rag as you remove there may be a little pressure, this will help gas from spray all over, with connector removed and lines removed you will now remove the six bolts holding the pump in, lift and remove the pump, take note of the position, make a ref mark so you can reinstall pump in top of tank facing the right way. this is called a fuel pump module, here is a picture of the pump unit.10_6_2012_2_55_35_pm.jpg
