Question about 2000 Mercury Mountaineer

Power windows mercury mountaineer

Is there a good wiring diagram. I determined 2 wires (UP and DOWN) from the drivers switch to the passengers switch are disconnected. I'm hoping it's simply a connector that has come loose, but need to know where / how these 2 wires route from one side to another and any common failure points

Wiring harness should be under the left side. covers on the floor area , next to the seats....... in the post area, that your front door locks into , and the hinge area on the rear door..... wiring is wrapped in main harness....

Testimonial: "Thanks for the help, but was fortunate to find it already. turns out both wires ("Left Regulator Switch to RR Regulator Switch(UP)" and "Left Regulator Switch to RR Regulator Switch(DOWN)") broke inside the boot from the driver door to the chassis. Seems very odd that both would be so cleanly broken which makes me think they somehow got pinched at assembly and took this long to finally break apart. It was a bit of a pain given how tight the space is, but I was able to solder them back together and install heatshrink. Everything is back together and running fine. Thanks for the help."

Go through your fuse box and check for any burned out fuses also they may take a relay which may also be out. You can pick up a HAYNES or other brand repair manual at any auto parts store. Auto Zone sells mainly Haynes books, they will guide you to your repair in a step by step repair. The books are kind of like "repairs for idiots" they are really detailed and easy to follow.

Hi, I'm trying to diagnose a non-working front passenger side power window switch on a 2008 Escalade. Only the lock/unlock function works. The window, mirror and mirror turn signal don't.

Yes they run a wire loom that has wires that are not used in some models. One thing you need to check is the wire loom because it flexes every time the door opens and closes and wires can break .Also you may want to go to autozone website and make a free account, you can put in the year make and model and look for the free repair guides for wire diagrams.

2005 mercury mountaineer where is my power window dues box

dues box ? do you mean fuse box . There are fuses for the power windows in the under hood fuse / relay box ! F1.62 30amp fuse an there is a relay in the CJB - central junction block ,located under the driver side dash panel . Accessory delay relay , first one top left in the fuse box. That's a good place to start ! what if fuse an relay are good ? then what ? do you know how to use a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter ? Do any of your windows work ? The best place to start is the drivers door window switch ! All power to all windows come through that switch .The lite blue with black stripe wire is power wire at the switch !

Passenger window wont roll down with either switch but motor is good and getting power

New switch for the passenger side. The drivers side switch may be wired through the passengers side switch witch will make it not work if the passengers side switch is bad. Just a thought. Hope this helps.

Need to get a wiring diagram. Buy a book and follow the wiring schematic. It should help you out majorly. Can't really work on electrical issues without one.

1997 chyrsler town & country passenger window won't go up or down

Hi Jack,

First I want to appologize to you for not getting back to you right away. I was not actually online at the time that you purchaced my services. I had simply forgotten to log out. So I am just now getting the message that you have asked for my help.

Anyway, if your other windows are working, this eliminates several possibilities. Your passenger window circuits can all be tested from the passenger window switch connector without having to take a lot of stuff apart. I have uploaded the wiring diagram for your window circuits. You can download a FREE copy at the following link: Window Circuit-01.gif

Just scroll down to the bottom of the page and select the link that says "slower download" , wait for the timer and enter the "captcha code" to download the file. Please note that you DO NOT have to purchase a "filesonic membership" to download the file. I have had problems with people thinking that I am trying to "sell" them a filesonic membership - this is simply NOT TRUE. The only thing I am selling is MY SERVICES and this is just one of the methods I use to deliver them.

When you check the circuits at the PASSENGER window switch, this is what you should find if the circuits are all working properly:

The BROWN/WHITE wire (pin 3) and the VIOLET/WHITE wire (pin 2) should both be GROUND with the driver's switch in the NEUTRAL position. The wire at pin 3 will switch to battery power when the driver's switch is in the UP position and the wire at pin 2 will switch to battery power when the driver's switch is in the DOWN position. If these conditions are not what you find, then the problem is either the driver's control switch or the wiring between the driver's switch and the passenger switch.

The BROWN wire (pin 8) and the VIOLET wire (pin 5) work similarly, however they are both grounded when BOTH switches are in the NEUTRAL position. These should toggle between power and grond when EITHER switch is operated. If the circuits above (pins 2 and 3) are working like they should, but these wires are not, then the problem is the PASSENGER switch. If ALL of these circuits are working as described, then the problem is the window lift motor.

Please study the wiring diagram so you can understand how this is all supposed to work.

If you need any further assistance, please respond back to this message to let me know.

Thank You for your patronage,

Dave (dttech)

1997 Chevy Lumina, I replaced the passenger side power window motor due to the factory one failing, The person before me cut all the wires going to the motor and toggle switch in their attempts to fix /...

There is a wiring harness on hinge side of passenger door correct, take a look at the wiring colors. Hope you can read it. At the window switch, the outside wire on either side is voltage or ground depending on which direction, up or down, reversing motor. You don't need the window switch for testing, you should be able to operate from driver door master switch. If you get the wires reversed, the only thing that will happen is, up will be down and down will be up, if that happens, reverse the wires. Just my opinion.
At the window switch, top middle wire is lockout, so only the driver can operate the windows.

2000 mercury Mountaineer Where is the module for the driver power window. The window will go down but not up. i have power out of the up and down button and the relay seems to turn on but i don't get power...

If the window operates one way but not the other direction you have a short in one wire The motor is fine if working any direction
If the motor was at fault it will not work at all.
Check all connections from the switch to the motor
Loose connections are common crimped to the terminals
