Truck squeaks at start-up and goes away after 2 times when I'm driving it will squeak and the voltage meter drops below 14 while squeaking. get off the gas and it stops and everything goes...

Your serpentine belt tensioner may be bad,not holding enough tensioner and not letting your alternator keep a charge on your battery, get some one to sit in your vehicle, open hood, have them start it while you watch the belts turn and have them rev the engine up to see if the belt turns loosely.another thing to look at is the A.C.compressor locking up .Power steering pump could be locking up,just check it out while it's running and see.

Just recently bought a used 1997 Corolla earlier this year. We replaced the alternator belt after finding it frayed to spaghetti and didn't think to change out any other belt. With the cold weather rolling...

ok if it has a serpentine belt it would be flat with grooves on one side, and the other belt style is a v belt witch has a v shape surface that fits down in the pulleys. If it is the serpentine belt most likely it has an auto matic adjuster on it that means it keeps it to proper tention. But if it has v belt then look over the belt to see if it is cracked or frayed. it so replace. Also look for burnt marks on it where it may have been sliding on a pulley if so then you have one of the pulleys locking up and thans causing it to squeak. If you inspect it and it looks ok go buy some belt dressing at auto zone and spay it on the belts good it will take the squeak out. hope this helps

I have a 1993 s-10 blazer and the belt was squeaking so i changed the belt and it quit squeaking for a day or two. I actually started it without the belt and it didnt squeak any more so I thought it was...

i dont think its a pulley, more like a weak belt tensioner, also make sure theres nothing leaking on the belt, oil or coolant leaks,if all is good try the tensioner.good luck.

Serpentine belt broke on 1997 T&C 3.8L van

Hello there:
when a belt starts to squeek it is just like a baby that cries meaning it needs attention that somthing is wrong weather the belt itself needs changing due to wear or cracks or that one of the pulleys needs servicing or is damaged
belt dressing is only a temporary fix and unfortunatly it can lead to premature failure because of the chemicals in the product can actually cause a breakdown in the belt fibres
now if the belt was noit the exact right one for the vehical or it was tightened too much this will also ocure.
so always consult the owners manual or contact your local kragen or autozone or dealershipo if you do not know how much tension is supposed to be on the belt ok
I hope that this has been very helpful for you
best regards michael

05 XL-7 I changed my old belts (with no squeaking) now one of the new belts squeaks loud, mostly in the morning when neighbors can hear and give dirty looks, like "get a new belt you incompetent grease...

Take a bar of soap at touch it on the side of belt when it is running. Becareful!!! or spray some WD40 on it. Should stop it. If not it must be something wrong with whatever it is running. If that is a serpentine belt spray it. Soap is good on v-belts.

Squeak from front left wheel...

It could probabely be the brake pads ,some cars have worning light come on and others have this little projection of steel piece working as warning tht the pads needs replacement.
Remove the front wheel andyou will be able to see the brake calipers and the pads.
Good luck.

Squeaking sound

It a particular period of time when the temperature changes and gets colder. So during the hot summer weather the belt(s) expanded. And as the weather changed and got colder the belts more likely would have the tendency to slip. There's an adjusting screw to adjust the belt tension. Hope you fix it.
