I looked down and the speedometer in my 05 Trailblazer said I was going 120 mph. When I stopped and put the car into park, the speedometer stuck at 70 mph. I need a simple, cost effective solution. Please...

This is a very common problem with Trailblazers and is caused by a fault speedometer stepper motor - the actual motor that makes your needle move around is wearing out.

You have two solutions, if your Trailblazer has 70k miles or less you can take it to your local Chevy dealer and they will replace it for you as part of a recall.

If you have over 70k miles visit my Trailblazer speedometer page here: http://drspeedometer.com/services-i-offer/trailblazer-speedometer-repair

I specialize in the repair of these units and offer free shipping and a great guarantee on my work.

2004 Chevy Trailblazer LS... most of the dashboard gauges are not working - any idea what it is, and guestimate how much to fix? Thanks, Dave

Usually, the stepper motors that drive the gauges fail. There are instrument cluster services listed on Ebay.

2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS, Speedometer dial

The motor behind the gauge is wearing out, very common on silverado instrument clusters for this to happen.

I can rebuild the gauge so it doesn't happen again, check my site out here www.DrSpeedometer.com

Hi ;battery guage , speedometer ,rpm guage stay bottomed out.fuel guage did same thing couple o days ago but came back normal.

chevy refuses to recall this speedometer. The same part is in several other models and they were recalled. The stepper motor in the gauge cluster is faulty. The dealership will charge around $700 to replace it. I reported it to the gov't agency that handles recalls and chevy in detroit. No results.

Fuel gauge won't display level, fuse is good

No, unfortunately it does not have a separate fuse.
The fuel gauge receives a fuel level serial data message from the ECM/PCM and displays it. You may want to check with your local Chevy dealer and see if there is any instrument panel cluster software updates available to correct the problem. If not, chances are the gauge is defective.
Good luck and let me know.
