Contact a dealer parts dept. and see if they will fax you a picture or pick one up.

Find the duel rail. Locate purge valve(like a tire valve) unswrew cap on it have one person crank the key and the other person holding in the valve. If gas comes out? Pump is ok if not then may need replaced but check the power to the pump first

1996 bonneville purge valve needs to be replaced

Should see it under the hood possibly near brake booster

Has a green cap on it

OBD Codes for a sensor doesn't mean the sensor is bad,
just doing it's job

All sensors have to be component tested first

My husband is trying to fix my 04 dodge ram 1500 4.7l, the computer says to replace the crank sensor and or cam sensor. the crank sensor was replaced a month ago. it wont stay running. but he doesnt know...

On the 4.7L, the cam position sensor is located on the right cylinder head (thats the passenger side) toward the front below the valve cover gasket. Not on the front of the head but on the side where the exhaust manifold is attched at the forward end of the head. The crankshaft position sensor is located on the same side (right) but is at the opposite end of the engine between the bell housing and the block. The crankshaft position sensor can be replaced without removing the engine or transmission, it just looks tight. Also, on the crankshaft position sensor, it slides out of a rubber gromet. Location of cam and crank position sensors

The cam sensor is located at the front right front side of the cylinter head, while you are facing the engine.---------- The crank position sensor located below the pcv valve that is located on block not the valve cover, its below the exhaust manifold. You will have to remove the catalytic converter to see the exact view of both the sensors. The camshaft sensor is on the head. The crankshaft sensor is in the block, just below the exhaust manifold. ------------ Thanks.Helpmech.

2005 ford excursion cam sensor location I need to change the cam sensor and the crank sensors on my excursion and i do not know where they are located

On my 02 Excursion with the 7.3L Diesel, the Cam Position Sensor is located at the front bottom of the engine on the passengers side. There is one electrical pigtail plug that is attached and one bolt holds the sensor in position. It may be located in a similar location on your 05 Ex. I do not know where the crank sensor is located. I hope this helps.

Where are the cam sensor and crank sensors located on my car?

Crank Sensor: Passenger side of transmission just to right and above the differential cover. Has 3 wires:

Light Blue/Dark Blue stripe - Signal
Dark Red - 8v supply
Black/Light Blue stripe - Ground

If the car runs or cranks, you can test this sensor by first checking for power on RED wire with key ON. Should be 8-9.5 volts DC. Furthermore, connect a dwell meter to the signal wire by probing the back of the connector. Dwell reading should be 49-51%. If not, its likely bad.

If you remove the sensor, you MUST replace the paper spacer on the end of the sensor or you risk damaging the sensor or even the torque converter drive plate otherwise. Also make sure O-ring is in good shape and positioned properly.

Cam Sensor:
Facing Engine, it is on the driver side timing case housing, on top of the round part, just to the right of the fuel rail pipe where there is a capped fuel valve.

Has 3 wires:

Tan/Yellow stripe - Signal
Dark Red - 8v supply
Black/Light Blue stripe - Ground

Testing is same as for Crank Sensor.
