Most those old fords had a problem with the ignition module when they get hot it won't start again until it cools down!

Does the engine reach normal operating temp? If not, check your thermostat. Are the heater hoses hot after the engine warms up?
Could be a problem with temp door, under the dash?

Is it cranking?
