Question about 2004 Saturn VUE

2 Answers

Gear searching I have taken my Saturn in for the same propblem since well under warranty. The dealer first told me that since the transmission relied on battery power to shift, I needed to change the batter as it had a bad cell. I took it to Sears because I replaced the AC Delco with a Diehard. They confirmed it had a bad cell and replaced with new one.. but guess what....did not fix the issue. The Dealer now tells me that it is a "gear searching issue" known with the VUE 5 speed trans (mine is the Redline Ed). Since there are no diagnostic red flags, there is nothing they can do. It is worse some times over others. Sounds like my first pickup stick-shift when I would put it in high gear to early. It does help to take it out of overdrive and shift to "I" to keep it from "gear searching" somewhat. I ask if there was a way to manually adjust the shifting sequence to shift at a higher RPM and apparently there is not...outside of this persistant "gear searching" issue, I love the car...However, unfortunately for Penske :) it will keep me from buying another Saturn anytime soon.

I had the same problem; this vehicle has the Honda engine/trans... 3.5L- it's not the trans but the torque converter locking and unlocking every second or two when driving between 35-45 mph under light load; it sets no codes and is very annoying... You'll see a 50-100 rpm fluctuation on the tach... My dealer did nothing for me- I don't have the car anymore as I couldn't take it... LOL

Sounds to me like you possibly have another option. Lemon law states (I believe) if you take the car back four times for the same problem, and it still does not get resolved, they have to supply you with a new car. I think, but I would check into it. Don't take no or "There's nothing we can do about it" for an answer. Good luck. As the consumer, you have the upper hand in this situation. Call consumer affairs and call BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) They should be able to help you.

2008 saturn vue wipers do not return to "home" when I turn them off> Any ideas on how to fix this?

replace the wiper motor. common saturn problem, and a big pain in the *** to do. it is most likely still under warranty so do a google search to find your nearest GM dealer who has been saddled with the saturn warranty maintenance duty and give them a call with your VIN in hand. if it is not under warranty then buy yourself a new wiper motor at a parts store or on eBay and pay a local garage to put it in.

Hello everyone, I have a 2009 honda crv and I have within the last month or so been experiencing a bit of an issue when I accelerate. When I hit the accelerator at low speeds it I feel this hesitation and...

Well what the issue exactly is I don't know but the dealer don't know either....Hmmmm it sounds you transmission needs to be serviced....Transmission Fluid change and Filter and gaskets... But also lets consider that your vehicle is not that old and probably is not time for your vehicle for that kind of service....But at some point it sounds like your transmission is about to go out and you might need it to be re-built....Check with your dealership see if your vehicle still under warranty and have them to service your transmission....

Good luck. I hope you get it fixed.

Transmission or possible computer problem

First if the cr is under warranty, take it to the dealer, again and again and again until they fix it, call Ford Motor Co. Customer Service number and complain. Get it recorded that this is a continuing problem, that way when the warranty does run out, you still have recourse... As far as disconnecting the battery it will not void the warranty, disconnect only the NEGATIVE cable and leave it off for at least half an hour. then clean the cable end and battery post and reconnect it. this will clear your codes if any, but will not fix what is wrong with the transmission.. That may actually be a sensor or switch in/on the transmission or a mechanical component going bad... Good Luck

the transmission needs to be dissassembled and inspected. find out where the metal is coming from. i would recommend a trans overhaul. or if you can afford it chevrolet has a reman trans with 3yr 100k mile warranty for approx $2200 or so. expensive but nice warranty and if it goes out dealer replaces under warranty for you.

Clutch/transmission issue ISSUE

I had a problem with my 06 Tib engaging gears properly and noticed that my clutch pedal felt weird, the dealer replaced a clutch master cylinder under warranty and now gears engage flawlessly and my clutch works like new again at 50K miles. If you have no warranty left, this would run you about 150.00.
