Power to ac compressor wont stay on in my 2000 jetta

    it has been checked, noone can figure out whats wrong with it, 2 mechanics have checked it so far, one guy said there was absolutely nothing wrong with it and another found that the power to the compressor wasnt staying on but doesnt know why, he isnt very familiar with vw

    have you checked the freon level, if the pressure drops the low-pressure cut-off switch will engage!!

Get freon checked and if it is ok get a new pressure switch.

2000 vw Jetta ac not cooling, ac compressor is on, freon level good, with ac manifold gauges high and low side fluctuates from 50-60 psi on low side.


try to throw cool water on the condencer front of the engine radiator and see whether any cool air comes in the car. If so see whether the pressure valve is working okey or not because might the pressure is not sufficient.

96 jettas compressor and fan won't come on. can't charge the AC until so.


These wont come on until you charge the system. if it was charged and still wont come on, several things keep it off. the compressor , high and low pressure switches, relay, control panel inside, and the ecm computer

99 jetta ac compressor wont run


there should be a pressure sensor on the ac line itself It's a safty feture to keep you from burning up your compressor when the 134 is too low in the lines check the connectoin to it make sure that the water didnt short it out. this would be my guess if you check all the other electrical...

THE AIR CONDITIONING IN MY 2000 JETTA VR6 JUST STOPPED WORKING, NO WARNING. I HAD TWO DIFFERANT MECHANICS LOOK AT IT. THEY SAID THAT THE COMPRESSOR IS NOT GETTING ANY VOLTAGE, BUT WHEN THEY JUMP VOLTAGE TO THE COMPRESSOR IT STILL WILL NOT START. THEY SAID THE COMPRESSOR SEEMS TO BE OKAY. ANY SUGGESTIONS

1998 vw jetta wont a/c wont cool


Flushed system replaced compressor, expansion valve and drier, evacuated system then let set overnight to check for leaks now replacing oil then I will charge the air.

Ac compressor in 2000 vw jetta wont kick on


the first thing that i would check would be to see if there is votage going to the clutch. if there is not then check the pressure switch, relay, and fuse. if there is voltage to the clutch then replace the clutch and that SHOULD solve your problem.
