Question about 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix
There is an access panel in the trunk behind the rear seat pass-through. You should be able to remove fuel and return lines, disconnect all plugs and wires, and release the lock ring from there before you lower the tank. I would suggest replacing the lock ring before raising the tank back into place.

Yo have to lower the gas tank and disconnect all the lines and wire harness connectors, then you pull the fuel pump module out from the top of the tank!!
