U will need to replace the brake light switch, it is located at the top of the arm the brake pedal is attached to, simple hand tools to replace, very easy job, part very cheap.

You dont need to replace any switches! This same problem happened on my 2008 malibu. I also had problems with my cruise control and traction control circuits malfunctioning. The problem is very slight corrosion/intermittent pin connection problem. You can find the solution here (eventhough the pictures show a 2004ish vintage Malibu):

Anyone can do it. Common autoparts stores sell small little packets of dielectric grease for around $1-2 dollars. Try this before replacing any parts or paying a mechanic.

This issue isn't unique. There was a bulletin put out about it. http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/GM-Chevrolet-Malibu-Brake-Pedal-Off-Tail-Lights-On-Repair-Guide/

Abs stays on

The abs light is staying on, because one of the four (4) abs sensors are bad. There is an abs sensor hooked up behind each of the wheels near the brakes to tell the computer when to apply the right amount of brakes depending on how they are applied. Typically, you can have your auto mechanic, local dealership or local parts shop hook up the scanner on your vehicle and they could tell you exactly what is wrong with it.
