Question about 1994 Mercury Sable

I just bought a 1994 Mercury Sable wagon. The steering wheel has alot of play. What is causing this and how would I fix it?

I can't see it from here, so you need to look over the steering components to find anything with excessive movement...best way is to have someone move the wheel back and forth while you watch the steering gear ends to see what's loose.

Speed control not working on 1994 Mercury sable wagon


Two things to look for are a vacuum leak and/or an electrical fault. The engagement switch on the steering column is the first place to check. You can use a test light or a voltmeter to verify voltage is getting to the control electrical connector under the hood. The diaphragm in the controller may have started to leak or a vacuum hose may not be applying full force to the diaphragm because of a leak.

Have someone check your brake calipers for sticking and holding the brakes applied. This can cause overheating and they will try to stop the wheel, causing the violent steering wheel shake. Also have them check the constant velocity(CV) joints, which if bad can make steering stiff.

Yes there is..You have to remove the rear seat and the carpet from the trunk forward and from there you'll see the fuel pump

i have 1996 mercury sable wagon has elecrical problem and it cause to stall when am driving as soon i stop and sometime the gas without step on goes high and then low like it goes off.also running light when i shut the car still on so [please someone help
