1995 Nissan Maxima complete speaker set replacement
I have 1995 Nissan Maxima, and would like to replace the original speakers (which are Bose) with a new set. The reason I want to replace them is that they are starting to rattle. What is the best way to go about it? Is there an aftermarket complete set that I can buy (including the tweeters in the frame)? Or is there a package/packages that can replace my original speakers without modifications? (meaning, they match, so I don't have to get any adapters.) Also, are the original speakers pretty standard? If so, what are the dimensions, power ratings, and total count?

Re: 1995 Nissan Maxima complete speaker set replacement
All you should have to do is take the speakers to an audio place to determine the size and shape of the speakers. most speakers of the same size and shape will work with your car. there should be 4 speakers in your car and if you have tweeters there will be 2 of those
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Those stereo\'s are junk...I\'ve had 3 4th Gen Maxima\'s and to be honest those aren\'t even Bose stereo\'s...they\'re Clarion system with a Bose cassette face plate on em and I read nothing but garbage about them. The speaker\'s w/amp\'s are true Bose but I hate them p.o.s.\'s and I now have a Pioneer deck and Jensen 600 amp...it\' fkn rocks and no games to play with the stereo. I even have the radio still in my trunk...just bouncing around. lol. Have fun and check under the hood cuz there are two boxes with fuses and relay\'s in them...look there. :D
Here is a list of radio wiring harness wire color codes and what they do. I have given both with and W/O Bose.

The original radio is a BOSE system and it has a buit in amp. So if you replaced the deck you need to replace the speakers all so. Don't cut the wires to hook-up the deck buy an addapter KIT. It's not just the stereo that runs though that harness the factory alarm does all so and that will cause you problems. Anyway back to the stereo you need to add an amplifier and problem sovled.
each speaker in your car runs the wiring thru an amp. So each spkear has its own amp for the bose system. You can not hook up a none bose radio If you do you will need to run new wires and replace all the speakers. Sorry.
there are actually amps located with the each rear speaker that are originally for the Bose speakers in the car.. its a little black box in the kit that holds the speakers in.. you can see them plainly from the trunk..
It is likely that these amps, or their fuses have shorted..
