94 camaro V6 manual starts up but will not move even in neutral

My V6 94 camaro started up fine, and I put it in reverse and attempted to back out, but it felt like I was trying to back up over a curb. I felt the gear engage when I released the clutch, but the car died the first time I tried because the rpms fell too low. The second time I tried, I kept the rpms up - the car didn't move, and I smelled burnt rubber. The car also won't move in neutral. Could the brakes be seized up? Was the burning rubber smell from a belt? I don't even know where to start.

Assuming your park brake is off, yes, the brakes might be locked up, and you were smelling burning clutch.

Begin by jacking up each wheel one at a time and find which is stuck. Likely it's an emergency brake cable but can also be other things. The smell you got is normal when you are slipping the clutch...not good for it but understandable in the context of the situation. If the clutch is in good shape, It is likely still ok. Once you find the binding wheel then you need to determine why it's binding.

Remove trans pan and check your manual valve it may be broken, or linkage problem, if no problem found then you will need to take a pressure reading but that may be out of your capabilities, have a shop check your trans and give you a diagnostic.

94 3.4 v6 camaro running rough

First things first, have someone check the fuel pressure with a gauge.
The EGR valve is not supposed to be open unless the car is moving at more than 20mph.

1997 Chevy Camaro V6 wont start

Hold your foot firmly on the brake and turn the key to the start position, then while holding it, slowly move the shift lever. If the car starts in any gear, adjust the neutral safety switch. Or, a bit safer, but not always as accurate, have someone stand behind the car and with the key in run position, put the car in reverse. If lights come on before or after you are in reverse, then you have same problem.

94 v6 camaro automatic.. no reverse or neutral.

Sounds like you may have burned out the reverse clutch pack inside the transmission by going from drive to reverse. I would recommend seeing a transmission shop for verification. Hope this helps

94 Camaro V6 transmission in reverse on all shifter settings

check to see if your shift cable is stretched or broken, also look on the transmission itself to make sure that the lever where the cable attaches to is not bent. also you can check under the shifter itself and make sure the linkage there is all ok. it sounds like your shifter cable is the cause for your problem.

if the cable is ok and you can see the shift lever move on the transmission than the next likely cause would be the valve body in the transmission.
