I assume that you cannot engage your cruise control either. If this is the case, the brake light switch needs replacing. Brake light switch does NOT have a sensor, instead uses ABS light + ECU code.

The BAS light means you need to replace the brake light switch/fuse located in the fuse box next to the door.
But iam not sure about the ABS light most common problems is that the ABS sensor needs to be replaced so go to your nearest dealer to see if that is the case.

Call them first to ensure policies haven't changed, but all of the chain auto parts stores have offered a free scan of the computer to read out error codes that may be on target or at least give a clue. M-B may or may not use standard codes but my scanner lists both diesel and gas categories for them.

My esp/bas light stays on

the operators manual is clear on that, did you read that first?
it says "get the car serviced" clearly
if you work on cars, do you? thne we scan the systems with the scan tool first. to see if there are complex hard errors.
like the ABS sensors, (not bas) sensor dead. (ops a road hazard hit it and broke the wire there, dang.
then if no hard failures.
first is not ESP (that be last dead last)
the first is , the brake must work perfect if not , the ABS can not
work correctly with bad brakes.
so check fuses.
scan ABS for errors
then do a full brake inspection, takes me 2 hours. but my guess,
youve never done brakes, right,, your self?
not even a full inspection?
  1. leaks? (fluid)
  2. pads worn out?
  3. caliper pistons not sticking
  4. rotors not cracked, or wrecked, surfaces.
  5. caliper guide pins not seized. (they float free?)
  6. emg, brake not sticking on partially?
  7. wrong sized tires on car (or just one , omg)
  8. ABS sensor parts damaged at axles ends.?
  9. bad wheel bearing, seizing or loose.
etc... etc.... and more.

ABS/ Traction control light/BAS & brake light on in 2008 dodge grand caravan

It is safe to drive. You need a scan tool to get a code out of it. Could be as simple as a wheel speed sensor going bad. All of these lights will work together normally. The traction control uses the ABS to gain traction, and the Brake Assist System is part of the stability control. Also uses the ABS.

Bas light is on and ABS in a cicle light is on...what can I do?

check your brakes for one, and also make sure the fluid level is set to full,, with ABS systems you need to have a certified mechanic check the brakes,,

Good day, I am experiencing the following problem with my Dodge Journey 2009. The EPS/BAS & ABS lights in the Instrument panel doesn't go off. Thank you in advance. Reuben.

This means theres a problem with one of the systems, the most common that would turn on all these light would be the abs system, if the abs system is not working good then the EPS/BAS cant run correctly, they use readings from the abs system so i would say theres a problem with the abs system like a bad wheel speed sensor but in order to find out the computer will need to be scanned for the codes. A scann tool will be needed for this and the tool is not cheap so i would have a garage scan it. what happens is the computer will see a component out of spec or the reading is not sent and inturn it turns the lights on and stores a code with the reason why. for example the code may be C100A- right front spped sensor.

The ABS ,BAS& ASR lights keep coming up

ABS--BAS

Most likely cause is the 'stop lamp switch'
It is a electric switch located on the brake pedal inside the car, about half way up on the brake pedal.
Pretty cheap too, I think the switch is only like $25 bucks.
2 connectors on the switch and then it turns out.
hope that helps

Mercedes

Can't find a BAS light in the manual , there is however a ABS light , which is a antilock brake system warning light . Check your tire presures before you check with the toyota service people.
ABS systems monitor the speed of the rotation of the tires , if one is low , the car sees it as a problem.
