Look for a cat converter issue. They tend to collapse on these trucks

It's most likely your throttle. Your fuel pedal is electronic and these will wear out. If you watch this problem you will see it happens at a certain RPM range.

Wiring diagram for the ignition system on a Chevy 1985 truck

The pins in the steering column have either pushed out or worked loose under the plastic covers. If you don't want to tackle taking the column apart and trying to piece it back together, just find a used steering column assembly. It's a very common problem on GM cars and trucks between 1975 and 1997.

Downshift hesitation?

Sounds like a plugged catalytic converter or in rare cases muffler. This will set codes but try this; remove O2 sensor closest to front of catalytic converter, it will be noisy but drive again, if performance is better, suspect plugged catalytic converter, replace cat and reinstall O2. Also check air filter and mas air flow sensor. Have had some luck carefully cleaning sensor with throttle body/air intake cleaner after removing from vehicle with key off. Hope this helps ! When I accelerate I lose power and the truck turns off

your vehicle is supposed to charge at a rate of 14.4 volts. your volts should never be below 13 while running otherwise alternator is probably bad. If the fuel filter has never been changed it too can cause vehicle struggle to accelerate go dead easily because it is struggling to get gas. I had a 99 tahoe that wouldnt shift out of first when fully accelerating until I let off gas. thought at first trans problems but an eight dollar filter fixed it. just remember that your volts should never go below 12 volts when off, especially when running because it takes 12 v to keep engine computer and all electrical on.

1990 gmc k2500 new 5.7engine & turbo 400 ,power lose & noise.

sounds as if you may be looking in the wrong spot. If different gearing is drastically changing the symptoms you may want to check the trans. or torque converter. sudden pop with engine rpm increase and lack of power sounds like possible band breakage in transmission or impellor breakage in torque converter.
