1. Check your coolant level- check at the radiator when cool, also.
2. Check to make sure that there is unblocked airflow to your radiator and a/c condensor (similar to the radiator)- blow compressed air or water from the back out the front of the fins... to make sure they aren't blocked.
3. Make sure the water pump is still circulating the coolant.
4. Also, may sound wierd but check your engine oil level too... it's part of the cooling process..

2002 kia sportage fuel pump needed replacing so we did and now car won't go

There maybe an air lock in the fuel line.
Try pouring a little fuel down the carby and then start the engine, you may need to do this a few times until the air lock is cleared.

After a long ride my 1998 kia sportage will not start for one hour.

Are you saying that once the engine heats up to a certain point after driving it the car overheats and must cool down before the protection system allows it to start again? If so there is an issue with the transmission tempature or cooling system temp, please tell me if the car has had the fluids serviced and checked, do you have a voltage meter? do you have a thermometer? if so I can walk you through areas to check for solution

When i turn my ac on in my kia it overheats. when i turn it off, it immediately cools down. What do i do?

Sounds like a/c condensor fan not turning on. It should turn on right away as soon as you turn a/c on. If not check fuse, relay, power & ground to fan &/or fan motor.

Unfortunately, I refer to repairs of this type as "search and repair missions"...You've overlooked the radiator core...the only thing left and probably the culprit. ($180)

2002 kia sportage temp gauge runs hot while driving

Cheak to see that the coolant fan is operating with the A/C turned on. The fan has to work to help the engine stay cool and help the A/C. When you apply heat on the control it acts to reduce the coolant temp. You will have to get the coolant fan operation checked. This can be :fan motor, fan relay, temp sensor and computer. Good luck
