Question about Subaru Legacy

2 Answers

I have a 2004 Legacy with 83,000 miles. Less then a month ago I needed to have the clutched replaced. Two days ago I was unable to start the car and when I took it to the garage they said My flywheel was completely shot. My question is when I had my cluch replaced would there have been any signs of impending flywheel failure. Is it also possible that the new clutch was not put on correctly.

What recourse do I have or way of proving that when my clutch was replaced there may have been problems overlooked with my flywheel

If the clutch has been replaced then whoever is doing this should have spotted this and normally should have been replaced..This is a real waste of time and money..You should get this done for free and meant to pay again..
Also it could have been incorrectly fitted, this could also happen.Hope this helps.

There is a possibility that the flywheel is input correctly and check the release bearing as well or maybe need some adjustment.

Clean your MAF sensor and throttle body. If it's dirty it will send wrong voltage to ECU, running either too lean or too rich, most likely too rich and flooded the fuel injectors.

Is replacing a throw out bearing on a vw r32

i doubt it needs replacing,,how good is this shop that rotated your tires,do they drive vws all day to know good from bad,,,? the only time you need to replace the throw out bearing is when its really noisy which hardly ever happens or when you replace the clutch it a good idea to do it since youre there already,,i doubt it needs to be replaced but if you have doubts take it to vw,,

Get a second opinion from a independent shop that sounds way to high.

Your clutch is not disengaging. If it a hydrolic clutch chk. the fluid in resavor, Or slave cyl. for the clutch is bad, Or it has got air in it and needs to be bleed. This is a clutch problem, nothing wrong with trans. If its a manual clutch linkage its an ajustment thing. My best guess if its hydrolic slave cyl. went bad, or resavor is out of fluid.
