Answer 1-Sorry but this could be horrible news engine wise, one of your piston rings might be broken.Probably the bottom one that scrapes oil back down as the piston goes to bottom dead center.
To fix would mean an engine rebuild. You said "burning" other wise your using to thin of an oil.

Answer 2-Your car may have a short somewhere, like mine did. My car wouldn't start in 4th but while driving i would lose a bit of power and i would be stuck in 4th till i turned it off for a while.

hope this helps

Okay let’s try this again I was wrong when I said my motor was a 3.2 it is a 3.5 v6 Isuzu petrol engine and I havent found the knock sensor could you please help me in this matter

All information that I can find indicates that it is bolted to the cylinder block underneath the intake manifold. Looks like the entire intake has to be removed to change it.

Why is my replacement Mass Airfow sensor which has only been on for a week playing up again it is on a 1999 holden rodeo v6 3.2L petrol.

Probably is not at fault at all and either a wiring issue or an air leak.
I have never had to replace one as the issue is usually elsewhere.

Holden rodeo 2007 using oil

It could be one of a number of things. the valve stem seals maybe worn if the car has done a few km's.
worn piston rings casing oil to get into the cylinders and burn with the fuel also caed by high kms'.Does the water in the radiator seem to have an oiley feel if so you may have a blown head gasket it may pressurize the radiator but tthere may also show with the color of the oil in the sump..

if its diesel 4JX1 its in top cam belt cover cant miss it, sensor is very clearly visible.
if its petrol V6 (6VD1 or 6VE1) its in left head at rear behind inlet manifold
these pictures are for petrol V6, Jackaroo(Trooper) and Holden Rodeo are the same.

My 2004 v6 3.5 litre rodeo has been regularly serviced and maintained and now has 140000 kms on the clock but it has now developed a ticking sound which i thought would be the tappets and or valves but all...

look for obvious signs that the holden dealer did take off rocker covers and check/replaced shims for tappet adjustment you should have shims booked out on receipt if any were done. Alot of them dont do it because its very time consuming and a pain in the **** to do this job. This should have been done at 100,000km service. If the tapping noise is there constantly at idle and approx 1200-1500rpm and gets louder if you stab the throttle at this engine speed its a tappet or other engine noise(big end bearing), if the noise comes in and out at a constant engine speed idle and 1200-1500rpm your valve guides are worn. both of these were common for this engine.
